Lightning split the sky of the training arena.
Two female grand magus stood opposite one another, cosmic energy swirling violently around them. One wielded a staff wreathed in crackling arcs of electricity; the other held a radiant bow, its string drawn back as lightning gathered along the arrow shaft.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
Bolts collided midair, detonating in bursts of thunder that rolled across the golden mountain. Shockwaves of wind mixed with residual lightning whipped outward, ruffling robes and sending fine gravel skittering across the arena floor.
Emery stood at the edge of the formation barrier, arms folded behind his back as gusts lashed against him. Even through the protective arrays, the clash between two grand magus carried weight.
The combatants were Klea and Rosia.
