Argon turned around and strutted back behind the desk and plopped himself on the leather chair. His head raised on the ceiling as he leaned back, exhaling slowly. The weight of responsibility pressed on him. "Our Alpha… he needs time. Time to recover from what happened with Melisca. We can't rush him into decisions while his mind is fractured. But… if we secure the mansion and the village, perhaps we can at least stabilize things."
Gandolf straightened, his gaze shifting from the map to Argon. "Stability is temporary," he said bluntly. "But preparation… preparation lasts. Every patrol, every sentry, every trained wolf counts. We cannot leave anything to chance. Not now."
Argon nodded, gripping the arm of his chair. "Then we do what must be done. We secure the Crimson Pack first. We protect our King. And we make sure nothing threatens him or his mate again."
