Trixy's pov
There was a faint smell of iron and rain in the evening air on the university rooftop. The intramurals below were thumping with energy—cheering like fireworks, flags fluttering in the dying sun. However, every shout from the field seemed to lengthen the silence within me.
"Why aren't you downstairs watching the games?" a voice behind me asked.
I looked at Luna who was walking towards me, her hair illuminated by the sun's last rays.

"Not really feeling it?" She smiled. "Or do you want your boyfriend here?"
Before I could stop myself, I let out a sort of bitter laugh. I hadn't told anyone yet. "We broke up."
Luna looked surprised. "Are you saying that you guys are not together?"
I turned to her. "I broke up with Zyron. Because… because Savannah is pregnant."
She looked confused. "What does that have to do with you and Zyron?"
