Trixy's Pov 

Villa de Ortega had seemed to me a quiet refuge of sorts, the kind of place where even the atmosphere would lull you to sleep. However, this night, the silence was different, it was pushing against me with all its weight like a thick and heavy coat. The little moon was just a crooked smile above the courtyard in typical Spanish style, giving the old stones a silver touch and drawing long shadows over the shiny tiles. The bougainvillea were moving in the gentle wind, their flowers murmuring the secrets not only to each other but also to me, but I could scarcely get what they were.

I went out through the front door leaving as little sound as possible. The housekeeper had already turned the small lights off in the hallway; only a few lamps there were still lit, little warm places in the very long white corridor. My walk created a very small echo of my feet which reminded me of my solitude.

Without anyone else but me.
