In Cretea, the goddess of springs and rivers felt it the moment it happened.
Nymia was sitting by the sacred spring in her garden when the water suddenly trembled. Ripples spread across its surface, even though there was no wind. All over Cretea, every fountain, every stream, every lake shivered at the same time.
Something ancient had just been lifted.
Nymia rose to her feet slowly. Her face turned pale. She had felt this kind of tremor only once before, a thousand years ago. On the day a mortal woman threw herself into the River of Death and the sacred land cursed her soul.
Now the curse was gone.
"No..." Nymia whispered. "No, no, no..."
She knew what this meant. Everybody in Cretea would know what this meant by tomorrow. Rowena had accepted Raphael. The Seventh Prince had proven his love. His exile would be over. He would come home to Cretea.
And he would bring HER with him.
