Archaeology has always been the most popular subject in the Half-sphere Civilization.
Ever since they completed industrialization, they needed only to consume a little of the First Epoch's heritage to achieve a leap in Science. Evidently, this kind of living off the past could continue for a very long time... even though there were some things that the Half-sphere people couldn't fully assimilate.
For example, the most advanced brain technology; there were some differences between the two species' brains, which made it impossible to copy directly. The lack of information made the Half-sphere people quite anxious.
The standard for civilizations below Level 1 was determined by their control over Energy Level, like human civilization at the beginning of the 21st century, which was a 0.73 level civilization. Thus, a 0.9 level civilization was quite formidable, only a step away from a bona fide Level 1 Civilization that could truly venture out into the cosmos.
