Chapter 2 - Home Sweet Home

"It's rude to ignore people," He commented as he caught up to me.

"I am ignoring one person, so it can hardly be considered rude," I rolled my eyes.

"Plus, since I did respond to you, I'm not even ignoring you," I shrug, turning to look at him

"There is no winning with you, is there?" He chuckled, shaking his head

"No harm in trying, is there?" I smirked before turning and walking away

"Is that a challenge?" I hear him call out from behind me

"Maybe, maybe not," I yelled back

I could hear footsteps behind me. He was still there. I smiled and shook my head. I was walking towards the packhouse, a common house for anyone. A place to sleep, eat, hang out, etc. I was currently looking for Mae, who had disappeared after dropping me off at the meeting.

"I am wounded you ignored me during the meeting?" Knox's voice brought me back to life

"Aw, poor you, however shall you survive without a little bit of attention?" I cooed

"I know, I might die, so you definitely give me some attention, Zes," He replied

"You dont give up, do you?" I stop and look up at him

Knox shook his head without even thinking about it.

"Fine, let's grab some food," I smiled and shook my head

"Yes! Also, not that I don't enjoy this packhouse tour, who are we looking for?" He asks

"There she is!" I exclaimed as I spotted Mae before I could answer her.

She was in the food court. Why am I not surprised about this?

She had short light brown hair and blonde highlights, which looked good on her. She didn't wear any makeup, and she had piercing brown eyes. She was slightly shorter than me. She is my best friend and will be my beta when I take over. She turned towards me and whistled and gave me 'the look'. I turned to see who was behind me.

"Knox!" I exclaimed. When I turned, there was a kissable distance between me and him. I quickly stepped back and blushed in embarrassment. Zene giggled, Mae was still whistling, and Knox smirked.

Then one pack member came and informed, "Knox, Alpha Samuel asked you to come."

"Oh! Okay, bye, beautiful, see you later for our date~" he said to me and walked away with his back facing me.

"Bye, Knox," I murmured. But he heard it, he turned and winked at me! I blushed and stuffed food in my mouth. I heard him chuckle.

"So what's up with you and Knox? A date?" She smirked.

I saw Mae wiggling her eyebrows at me while eating. I ignored her and went outside my packhouse and went to my house. It's easy to find my house, it's the biggest one in the pack, and it was covered with snow, and it looked so beautiful with all those fairy lights.

I walked into my house and saw my mom watching over some pups in the living room. She is the Luna of the pack. I smiled and waved at her before I climbed the hardwood stairs. The grey wall was beautifully decorated with pictures of my mom and dad, and a lot more of me. There were flower vases attached to the wall, too. I smiled and walked towards my room. The first room in the walkway was mine; the ashy white wall ended as the wooden door came into view. When I opened the door, a husky pup barked and jumped on me.

"Whoa, boy!" I exclaimed, "You're getting heavier!"

My room was the only room that had a balcony. I loved it. Straight from the door is the balcony's glassed door with gradient purple ombre blackout curtains that blocked the few rays of sun. I walked towards the balcony glass door and slid it open. The cool breeze hit me. Wiskey (my Husky) jumped and ran to the balcony and started playing with the snow. The name was an inside joke between me and Mae.

There were a couple of potted plants on my balcony that could survive in this cold weather. Beyond that, stretched snow-covered pine trees. The wooden floors were covered in snow. Wiskey was about to jump off the balcony. I caught him real quick. Zene growled at him, scolding him like a mom. He whined in reply. I started petting him he started to relax in my touch. I smiled and turned to go back into my room.

I went to my bed and lay Wiskey down, and went to close the balcony door. I closed the glass door and tied open the curtains. I turned to see Wiskey jumping on my bed. I smiled.

The floor in my room was carpeted with white faux fur. I walked to my bed and sat facing the grey walls, and examined all the paintings I had done. There were five of them hanging. Another wall had a picture framed of me and Mae from our childhood. The frame was in the shape of a cute wolf paw. It was a collage, it was small but cute. Each claw had one picture; it wasn't that small, it was visible. That wall had a table, also there were framed pictures of childhood me and with my parents. Pictures with Mae were hanging. There was a picture of me and Wiskey too.

I love these people... and Wiskey.

I walked over to my study table, which was right in the corner, next to my bed, as well as the balcony. The table was white and was attached to the grey wall. It had a white study lamp. There were shelves attached to the table and the wall in square and rectangular shapes where I kept my books. My laptop was in one corner, and my phone sat next to it. I propped myself on a white crosshatch chair and let my eyes wander before it settled on a calendar, a weird thing my dad thinks to get every year. My eyes widened in realisation.

"MY BIRTHDAY IS IN TWO DAYS!" I exclaimed.

How did that slip my mind? I wasn't great with dates, but forgetting my birthday is kinda crazy. 'Well, at least it wasn't the day off,' Zene commented. 'I get to meet my mate Zene, ' I exclaimed. Werewolves get to meet their mate at 20. I am gonna turn 20 in two days! It's more of curiosity than excitement. I probably met him before, or not. Well, either way, I would be able to see them at the annual ball, at least the chances will be higher.
