After repeating himself who knows how many times, finally, Huo Ci understood that she couldn't speak.
Only then did he put the Little Goldfish back into the swimming pool.
Su Yan flicked her tail to swim away, but before she got far, he scooped her up again.
He was holding a handful of water.
But once he'd scooped her out, he seemed afraid she'd dry out and die.
So he simply bent down and kept her soaked in the pool while cupping his hands around her.
He was just about to say something.
The sound of the 120 ambulance came from outside the door.
A nurse rushed in, and following behind her was Zhao Xingchen.
The nurse spoke first.
"Where's the patient?"
Huo Ci looked up.
"It's fine now."
As soon as he said that, the nurse stopped in her tracks.
She seemed doubtful and scanned the room carefully.
She saw that there really was only him here.
The nurse spoke.
"Were you the one who called 120?"
"Yes."
