The Sunfury Mystic Ice Cave is a rare sight, and Profound Ice is a cultivation resource, which leads to cultivators competing for resources.
Fortunately, Profound Ice is not an exceedingly rare cultivation resource, and there aren't any millennium-old or even ten-millennium-old ice here. Although there is competition, it's not extremely fierce. The ice here is easy to mine and can regenerate over time, hence it garners attention.
The Xuanyuan Family is not nearby, so supposedly they shouldn't be able to compete for it - even if they could, there is no legal support on their side.
However, two small local clans also wish to seize this resource, but their strength is insufficient, so they've brought in the top-ranked family as backup.
The three families agreed to take turns mining every year, selecting the time when the weather cools down—if it's not mined, the ice would gradually decrease.
