Once Kane Townsend was wheeled into the hospital room, Aurora Blaine finally calmed down.
A few minutes later, the doctor came in, "Are you the patient's family member?"
"I'm her friend," Aurora replied.
"Has the patient's leg been seriously injured before?"
A sense of foreboding washed over Aurora, "Yes."
The doctor glanced at the X-rays in his hand, "Her leg was severely hit this time, the situation is unclear, pending observation, prepare yourself mentally, I'm afraid... the injury might worsen."
Aurora spoke softly, "I understand, thank you, doctor."
After giving instructions, the doctor left.
Jace Pierce stepped in, looking at the girl on the bed.
The girl had her eyes closed, her dense lashes like brushes. Due to massive blood loss, her skin was paler than usual, her clean, petite face flawless; if not for the paleness of her lips, one might think she was simply asleep.
His gaze landed on the white bandage on Kane's wrist.
An inexplicable discomfort.
