Mu Qianyue and Tong Ling walked down along the stone steps, the air becoming increasingly dry and the temperature gradually rising as they descended.
"Logically, it should be getting wetter the further down we go, unless there's lava below."
"Whew... it's so hot! Who knows how much further we have to go? I'm going to die from the heat at this rate..." Tong Ling tugged at his collar, his face flushed and impatiently remarked.
After another short walk, suddenly, Mu Qianyue paused in her steps; the stone stairs ended here, leaving a giant circular abyss that was like a pillar, straight up and down, measuring a thousand meters. The end of the stone steps was on the rock wall, as though they had suddenly walked to the edge of a cliff.
Tong Ling pointed below and said, "Master, there's really lava!"
Mu Qianyue furrowed her brow in confusion, "It seems like we haven't walked far, how did we reach the depths of the earth's core?"
