Chapter 34 - DIANDRA THREATENS TO LEAVE THE HOUSE

Hearing her in the kitchen, as he enter the house calling out, "I am home," then hurried up the stairs.

Hearing the footsteps Alex looks down thinking she came out to see him, but she went straight to the library.

Standing silently for a few minutes when she ventures out carrying the dirty dishes in a tray into the kitchen.

'I wonder if she will like to go out for a burger or for dinner?' Clearing his throat hoping she will look up, 'Boy, she still seems to be vexed.'

Ignoring his thought earlier, calling out to her, "Diandra, will you like to go out for dinner or to get a burger?"

"Sorry, I have plenty to do, plus Johnny said you send lunch."

"You haven't eaten any lunch?"

"I woke up just before the men were ready to leave, then I had a visitor for half an hour."

"Okay!" Turning then went to his room." When she calls out Alex!"

"Yes!"

"Are you alright?"

"I am good."

Diandra went to the kitchen washing out the dishes and left it to drain then reheat what she wanted from the lunch box resting the remaining in the refrigerator for when Alex ready to eat.

Completing her meal, Diandra then sweep and mop the kitchen, leaving it to dry, she went into the hall and began cleaning, so when the men come in the morning, they can begin putting down the tiles.

Alex observed how dusty the place was as she sweeps and takes up the rubles in small portions in a bucket and carry it outside.

Realizing that this is plenty work, knowing he didn't bring her here for that, but she has a mindset of her own.

Without turning Diandra realized he was looking at her, saying, "Alex, it has some boxes in the library can you be kind enough as to take it inside the kitchen for me please, and be gentle with the boxes they are breakable items."

'Does she have eyes behind her head or does she sense my presence?' Thinking, 'Maybe it's my cologne?'

Reaching downstairs she didn't stop the work she was doing, so he did what she asks and carry all the boxes, laying them out side by side just as he pick them up.

Completing the task he stops and admires the work they did, the vanilla looks lovely in the kitchen, it had to be she that choose it, because mom always love yellow and it seems Diandra loves it too.'

Resting a piece of galvanize over the rubbles, then locks the backdoor and switch off the back wall light.

Diandra then went to the room where they were sewing the cushion covers. Checking it through seeing just a few more pieces to complete.

'They should be done here by tomorrow, so they can begin work upstairs.'

When Alex found her, she was wiping the refrigerator unconcerned and happy, "Are you going to work the whole night? It is already ten-o-clock?"

"I am almost done, and Alex I leave some of the lunch for you, I just need about fifteen minutes again and can you bring in the box of groceries you bought?"

Diandra was so absorbed in the packing of the groceries, and the utensils that she had completely forgotten about Alex.

As exhaustion overtakes her Diandra enters the study only slipping out the sneakers and sit on the couch.

Her eyes were halfway closed already , stretching her hand for the covers, thinking, 'Has the couch gotten smaller,' trying to make herself comfortable but sleep had swept over her.

Opening his eyes Alex wanted to know why he was feeling so warm and stuffy, 'Oh dear God my shoulder pains so much, I need to take a cool shower?

Deciding to get up feeling the numbness in his left hand, wondering, 'What was causing it?'

Trying to shift his body but it was tangled up with something, and his back felt like it was against a wall. At that moment he felt confused wondering, 'Where was he?'

Taking a few deep breaths to calm his mind, but then he smells the fragrance of his shampoo.

Suddenly memories refresh his mind, that he was lying on the couch in his study, 'He was waiting for her to come.

It was her body next to his, I must have fallen asleep but what time did she came and lie down. I never thought in my wildest dreams she will sleep next to me?'

Enjoying the moment lying quietly, when she tries to turn and almost fell. Alex reaches his hand out and grab hold of her, bringing her closer to him.

Hearing her snap, "Let go of me, and what are you doing here?"

Ignoring her questions saying, "Good morning," he was smiling when he said, "Your hair has arrested my left arm and I am getting late for work."

Alex knew she was angry when she said, "You did not answer my question?"

"And which question was that?"

"I want to know what you are doing in my bed?"

"Sweetheart, you are confused, this is my house and if you recalled clearly, I was waiting for you.

You told me it will only be fifteen minutes, while waiting I must have fallen asleep, so it is your fault I am here, now will you just relax?"

"Good Lord," trying to get up, "Oh dear, now my hair is all tangled up." Tightening his hold around her waist, when she said, "Let go of me Alex?"

But instead, Alex made himself comfortable lying on his back, then pulls her to sit on top of his stomach, "Now, will you tell me good morning?"

"This I am telling you, if you don't release me now, I am leaving this house today, so you decide?"

Releasing her immediately, Alex just shift aside and get off the couch. Reaching the hall he heard his phone ringing. While running up the stairs, he looks at the hall clock, thinking, 'I still have forty minutes to finish organising and be in the office.'
