Chapter 65 - ALEX SEES DIANDRA BAG PACK

Alex thought the coldness he experience this morning is heartrending enough.

He didn't want a repeat episode and from what she said, he know she has every intention of returning to Longfield when her friends return.

If only we could spend our weekends together he will be contented because that was all he wanted for now.

But seeing her behavior now, it is completely differently to when mom brought her home, even when we were married.'

With one thought after another bombarding his mind, Alex was restless. Trying desperately not to turns around wanting desperately to hug her, but then that will disturb her rest.

Repeating the Psalms quietly then pray, that was the only thing what really soothe his heart. When the clock chimes nine times his eyes close.

Jumping up to the ringing of his phone causing his dreams to cut as he grabs the phone, the ringing had stopped.

But the little hands that were holding his hand felt so real, 'Could it be the little one she was speaking to is my son?

The teacher did say he only has a mother, and his grandparents. Oh my God is Diandra this child's mother? His eyes are just as beautiful as hers, and they sleep the same way?'

Seeing three miss calls was from Sergeant Wilson's phone, Checking the time still drunk with sleep, "Oh my goodness, it is only half twelve and I could do with some extra rest."

Knowing it must be important, Alex slip out of the bed and went to the washroom, and return the call asking Sergeant Wilson, "What was wrong?"

After hearing his report, "Sergeant have you called the Police already?"

Hearing he said, "Yes Sir, right after I held the perpetrator at eleven fifty."

"Okay, hold the forth and I will be on-site in a while?"

Asking himself, "Why is all this vandalizing taking place so regularly, is it someone spiting him?Have I done something unknowingly or am I a hindrances?"

Dressing Alex then prayed once more as he was about to leave, as he looks at her thinking, 'I don't think she will withhold such vital information from me? I've got to believe with all my heart she will not do that to me.

I have yearned for a son this last few months since I saw that child. From the moment I saw him I felt a connection that had reminded him so much of her.'

Leaving quietly thinking, 'Mr. Jefferson must be there already, so he didn't delay. Thanking God it was one in the morning and it had no traffic.

At the location where the break-in has taken place, the police had the burglar handcuff. Asking Sergeant Wilson, "If Mr. Jefferson is around?"

"No Boss I contacted him after I called you but he hasn't reached as yet."

Observing the police had the tools the young-man had used to break-in as evidence set aside.

Putting on gloves as he checks the tools and takes pictures as evidence if the matter were to reaches the courtroom.

Asking the young man, who was only about nineteen years, "Why did you ignore the warning sign, there is a reason that sign is there you know?

Now you have put your parents in a lot of problems, and they must be worried sick about you?"

Hearing the way he stupes as if he is saying to him, 'Why don't you just mind your own business?' Observing the way he slumps down his shoulders.

Alex said, "Youngman, if you will give me your parent's contact number, I can call them for you, before the owner of this business arrives and the charges are laid?""

Noticing the two officers looking at him, ignoring them wanting to help the young man,

Alex notices how he ignores him as though he didn't need his help. Turing aside, Alex ask Sergeant Wilson to write his report.

It took us almost three hours to lay the charges because Mr. Jefferson didn't reach the location until five am, to know what his final decision was.

Going to the office for six, Alex work for two hours then leave for home.

Getting breakfast for Diandra and himself, knowing the few food items that was in the kitchen now is not sufficient to fix us a complete breakfast, and she might still be sleeping.

Reaching the entrance to his gateway Alex notices this elderly woman and a child about six years was standing by the gate ringing the bell. Angry for their disturbance, thinking, 'They will wake her up.'

Quarrying from them to know what was their problem, only to hear the woman pleading with him, because she was hungry and need something to eat.

Unable to let them go empty-handed, Alex took the meal he bought for their breakfast and give it to her, together with ten dollars.

Seeing their smile as they leave, Alex drives into the garage, coming out seeing the two cups with the soda.

Hurrying back to give them the drink, but they weren't in sight. Wondering, 'Where could they have disappeared to, so quickly?

She is old and frail and the child is small, so they couldn't walk down this long street so quickly? Unless they have taken a taxi, but I didn't hear a vehicle passed by.'

Looking up and down the street, the road was empty not a pedestrian neither a vehicle. 'This is so strange, this street is always busy.'

Confused, Alex locks the gate then enters the house. Hurrying up the stairs to the room, but the house was so quiet Alex thought, 'She was still asleep.'

Entering the room seeing she wasn't on the bed, but her bag was pack and was on top of the bed.

Feeling as though his heart skip a beat, "Oh my goodness, is she leaving, I am not ready for her to leave as yet." Calling out to her, "Diandra, honey where are you?"

Checking the washroom and the other rooms, then run down the stair anxious to know where she was.

Realizing the moment he notices one bunch of the keys was missing, it immediately clicks his mind that she must have gone to visit in mom's church.

"Oh Lord, please let it be that she went to church, I don't think I am ready for her to leave."
