Chapter 6 - Boss, Aren't You Sleeping Too Much?

"Boss, did you not sleep at all last night?"

She was puzzled—why did he always look so exhausted every time she saw him?

"..." Xue Feimo closed his eyes and didn't answer her question.

The butler saw this and hurriedly laughed, "Miss, the young master is very busy with work. He hasn't slept a wink for two days and nights."

Everyone who knew about the young master's insomnia had signed a confidentiality agreement.

So he had no intention of letting this young lady know, either.

He glanced up at the rearview mirror and saw that the young master had, sure enough, dozed off again.

He was thrilled inside, though he kept his face expressionless.

He just couldn't figure out why this young lady worked better than sleeping pills!

But he did know one thing—as long as she stayed,

the young master had a chance.

"Tsk tsk tsk, making money is really no easy thing, huh!" Luo Tiantian sighed after hearing the butler's words.

In both her lives combined, she had never earned a single penny by herself.

Even though she lost her parents early on, she still felt incredibly lucky.

Because she had the best parents in the world.

Though there was some regret in her heart—right up until she died, she hadn't been able to spend all the inheritance her parents left.

She had no idea what would happen to the rest of the money after she died.

Thinking about this, Luo Tiantian let out a sigh, "Ay!"

The butler heard the young lady's words and couldn't help but agree, "Yes, the young master has been flying around ever since he turned eighteen. He works day and night, barely ever gets any rest..."

When Luo Tiantian heard that, she couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Flying around?"

Xue Feimo's not a bird, and he doesn't have wings, but he's always flying around...

Unless he's just like her and obsessed with extreme sports.

"That's right. Our Xue Group's business is spread across many countries. So there are countless things that need handling. That means most of the young master's time is either spent on a plane or in the office," the butler replied.

"Uh... so that's how it is." Luo Tiantian finally understood.

Actually, her mom was really busy in her childhood, too, and back then she just couldn't figure out why her mom couldn't spend more time with her.

And her dad?

Since he was in a special police unit, sometimes he'd disappear for days, months, or even years at a stretch.

If she had to sum up her parents in one word, Luo Tiantian would choose—busy.

When she was thirteen, her father got badly injured and was forced to stay home to recover in bed.

Her mom, to take care of him, handed her job over to her subordinates too.

After that, the family finally got to spend two years of happy life together.

Too bad—two years later...

She lost everything—except money.

After her parents passed away, she learned all the truth from her mom's diary.

It turned out her mom had pushed herself so hard because she saw how things would end up.

She was worried that after her death, her daughter would have nothing to rely on, so she worked herself to the bone making money.

At this, Luo Tiantian's eyes reddened.

"Mom, Dad, I promise I'll take good care of myself." Luo Tiantian silently told herself in her heart.

She gathered her thoughts and went on chatting with the butler, here and there.

Soon, they arrived back at the stunningly beautiful modern villa.

At the butler's signal, the two of them helped Xue Feimo back into the main hall together.

She thought Xue Feimo would wake up quickly, but to her surprise, he slept all the way until the next morning.

-

Luo Tiantian woke repeatedly from her dreams, and finally waited until Xue Feimo woke too.

"Boss, you sure can sleep, huh? You've been out for over ten hours!" Luo Tiantian couldn't help grumbling.
