Chapter 10 - Bloodline Family

"But we did push you back. And as you clearly stated earlier, whoever had the ability to do so will be able to instantly become an elite student."

A wave of exclamation suddenly struck the crowd.

"Did just the two of them push that strong examiner back?!"

"They took advantage of his arrogant defenselessness.

"So what? It doesn't change the fact that they did."

Amongst the examiners.

"I'm impressed, despite them striking at an unexpected time, their speed is quite good and they strike with a lot of force, pushing our colleague back."

"He doesn't look so happy though..."

"He's probably planning not to stay true to his words and fight those two children. Should we stop them?"

"No. I want to see how they handle this situation on their own. Even if that man doesn't stay true to his words, then we'll personally recommend them. I just want to see the depths of their true strength for now. We'll make a move if things get out of hand but for now, observe."

...

Raziel observed the unhappy examiner from up and down. Obviously not happy with how things turned out, Raziel had already known that the examiner might put back his promise at the back of his mind and attack the two of them. Despite his arrogant position right now, he was at the peak of his cautiousness. Ready to strike the moment the examiner made a move.

"Boy, you merely caught me off guard, do you think you can actually push me back?" The blond examiner spat out blood and looked at Raziel angrily.

"I don't mean any disrespect, but you never set a prerequisite as to how you would like to be thrown to the ground."

"You!"

Whoosh!

The blond man suddenly dashed towards Raziel. Raziel, who was already prepared, suddenly stood up, kicked his sword up towards the air, and caught it with both hands.

He confidently smiled and shouted, "Heavy Strike!"

Raziel slashed his sword down towards the arriving blond examiner.

Boom!

Clouds of dust filled the air, blocking the spectator's view.

"Was that a skill?!" An examiner exclaimed.

"Looks like it, although it doesn't look flashy, it certainly is powerful. He's certainly talented to be able to learn a skill at this age. I wonder who thought of him and what his level is. To be able to match up to an Expert Knight... What a monster."

(A/N: Just to be clear, if you haven't noticed, he has only forgotten his important memories and is still able to remember everything else.)

"Seems like an Expert Knight isn't as powerful as it seems." One examiner sneered, with others that seemed to agree.

"You're underestimating him." A man wearing silver armor suddenly came up behind them and looked towards Raziel.

"Knight Commander!" All examiners talking saw the man and immediately recognized him, immediately giving a salute.

The person that had arrived was the Knight Commander of the whole Alvarez Empire, one of the most powerful people under the Emperor, a man who had exceeded the level of 100. A legendary stage for the common people.

The Knight Commander nodded and continued. "That boy... he's very powerful and immensely talented. A very excellent seedling that I've not seen for a very long time. If I had to guess, he's most likely a level 40 Novice Knight."

The examiners were in immediate disbelief. "A peak-level Novice Knight first-year... are you sure sir?"

"That's only my guess. He might be even more powerful." The Knight Commander grinned happily. How could he not? This was a great genius from his Alvarez Empire, comparable to the Emperor when he was younger. Having him would mean that the Alvarez Empire would grow even stronger.

"However, you all should not underestimate an Expert Knight, not to mention him." He pointed at the blond examiner.

"As arrogant and brash as he may be, he is a good-hearted person who wouldn't hurt an innocent student. He just happened to have an unfortunate past that changed his life. What you're seeing is him holding back, trying to test that young man's power. Although judging by his annoyed expression, he really didn't expect that strike from the two boys. Haha!" The Knight Commander laughed.

"Good-hearted person..." Some examiners looked at their blond colleague and shivered. How would that crazy battle freak be a good person, if anything, he would look like a villain from a children's fairy tale.

"Besides that, he's stronger than your average Expert Knight." The Knight Commander continued. "He's from a fallen Bloodline Family. Although adopted, through special means, he had obtained their bloodline and is able to use their bloodline skills. Unfortunately, this Bloodline Family has already fallen due to the lack of successors, with only him as the remaining 'descendant' left."

The examiners were shocked once again. "Bloodline Family?!"

Who in the world didn't know what a Bloodline Family was, descendants of powerful people from ancient times, providing their bloodline with great inherent talent and power boost, as well as special abilities called bloodline skills, powerful and unique skills that were once used by their ancestors and now passed down to only the descendants themselves.

It is said that the descendants of bloodline families didn't need to learn bloodline skills from any source because they would start learning it themselves from a certain age. Unfortunately, Bloodline Families garnered heaven's envy, and having children was much harder, enabling them to easily fall to destruction when these descendants run out.

There were very few Bloodline Families left on the continent, most of them being very aloof, and rarely interacted with common people. Even the Alvarez Empire only housed three Bloodline Families.

"From which fallen Bloodline Family is he from, sir?" Although they were called fallen Bloodline Families, their reputation was still immeasurable and was often known to the common people. Each of the families was akin to the brightest stars in the sky, every one of their descendants was excellent and was the cream of the crop.

"His bloodline family... the strongest brawler knight family in the Continent... he is Dio Brando from the Joestar Family!"

...

Clouds of dust filled the area, blinding everyone from the situation.

Inside the dust clouds was a boy holding a sword over a fallen burly man on the ground, seemingly motionless as he knelt.

To others, it might seem that the final victor was Raziel, but if one looked closely... the man was currently grasping the boy's sword his with own hands once more, but this time, seemingly sustaining no injuries from the attack!

"Hehe, you really caught me off guard the first time, but this time, let me show you the power of an Expert Knight!" The man, Dio, suddenly pulled the sword out of Raziel's hands and threw it away.

"Catch my fist!" Clenching his hand, he threw a punch towards the weaponless Raziel.

Despite this turn of events, Raziel stayed calm and immediately dodged the attack. There was no way his skinny arms could withstand the blow of a powerful brawler knight. Therefore, despite the close range, he had to dodge.

This time, luck was on his side and had barely dodged the attack, however, despite the main force of the fist missing him, he had still felt its powerful shockwave.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Three layers of powerful gusts of wind bombed the previous area he was in, quickly dissipating the clouds of dust surrounding them, revealing the current situation to all.

"I'm impressed you could dodge that. So for that, I'll give you a little gift." Dio grinned and readied his hand.

"Not good!" The examiners felt something bad upcoming.

"He's going to use a bloodline skill," the Knight Commander calmly said.

"Shouldn't we stop him? He might seriously injure such a talented seed!" One examiner protested.

"No, let them. I'll save the kid if necessary. He doesn't seem to worry as well, I wonder what else he has under his sleeve." The former smiled.

"Boy, get ready." Dio ripped his sleeves off, showing off his large muscles.

However, as if not hearing what he said, Raziel walked towards him.

"Oh? You're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me?" Dio spread his arms.

"Then taste my bloodline skill." He grinned. "Overdrive Barrage!"

"MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA!"

Seemingly countless fists headed towards the motionless Raziel.

Picking up a nearby branch, he raised it and quietly whispered.

"Full Counter."
