The heavy slam of Midnight's head hitting Su's shield was heard through the training ground.
Every single time that this happened, the others training here, guards or adventurers, would hesitate or freeze.
It wasn't because this sound was abnormal, but because the violence in it sounded more like a real battle than training.
The evidence of this was clearly seen in the fact that several weaker shields that Su used as training were left on the ground broken and like a scrap pile. They had uses but this was not the point here, the strength and materials of the shields were meant to be broken while Su trained so that she could learn about what she was trying to grasp fully.
