As soon as his feet stepped into the square, Richard sensed a vague danger.
This feeling of danger enveloped his body, as if a pair of hidden, malicious eyes were watching from the darkness around him.
The exposed skin tensed slightly, and his eyes became concentrated.
Richard wasn't afraid; a faint blue light flickered in his eyes as he activated the perspective function of the Eye of Gaze, surveying the surroundings.
He saw that the ruins of the buildings around were filled with palm-sized creatures swarming towards the small square. As they got closer, he deactivated the Eye of Gaze and activated Dark Vision, finally seeing that they were insects resembling cockroaches.
Their exteriors were pitch-black and seemed iron-cast and very sturdy. Their heads were adorned with silver patterns, and arcs of electricity flickered on their antennae, clearly indicating their ability to release Thunder Magic.
Richard's gaze grew somber upon seeing this.
