"You vile mother lay with another man, and you were born," Patriarch Dugu sneered. "I couldn't divorce her since that would have brought shame to our clan, but do you expect me to care about you?"
Dugu Bai stood in a daze. Did his mother really do such an immoral act? He could not believe it. The patriarch noticed his situation and lunged at the boy, heading directly for the knife. Unfortunately for him, he understated the extent of the injury to his leg. As soon as he moved, the pain hit him harder than being kicked by a horse.
"Liar!" A second dagger plunged into the patriarch's leg, and coincidentally, it hit the same spot as the previous wound. "My mother would never do such a thing. Now, tell me the truth, or the next one will be your throat."
