Before the fight between Alucard and Hein Eduard began, James Ross was separated from the others by Alucard's teleportation.
"Not again. Why does this keep happening to me?"
Ross was tired of being separated from people every time. "It's been a tradition, that I enter a new environment I will be split off at some point with others." Determined, Ross moved forward, looking for his colleagues.
'Where did the Dragon teleport us? 'They may be somewhere around the building, but it will take too long.'
As he moved, he took in the grandeur of the hallway: golden walls lined the corridor, glowing above an expensive crimson carpet, now scratched and worn. What stood out most were the holographic doors, smoothly blending old architecture with futuristic design.
James stopped when he saw four Dragon Eggs step out of the same holographic doors, blocking him from going forward. Ross glanced at their drawn weapons. They held a combat knife, a machete, a hatchet, and a spear.
'Good, they don't have Flow weapons.'
Ross tilted his head slightly to the left, using his Sight, and he narrowly avoided the hatchet thrown at him. Instead of Ross, the man with the spear was stabbed into heart by it. In quick fashion, he grabbed the spear from the body and smoothly killed two Eggs. One who had thrown his weapon stood was last one alive, and he was frightened. Ross locked eyes with him, tossing the spear to the carpe and seizing him by the neck.
"Tell me, where did Blood Dragon send them?" The man remained silent, so Ross smashed him through the wall into one of the rooms.
"Tell me!" Ross kept holding onto his neck and noticed that the goon's heart stopped, so he threw him to the floor.
'What a waste.' He left the room. 'I'll find them by myself.'
He pressed the elevator button to go inside.
'I should check other floors.' A screeching sound grew louder, drawing Ross' attention.
"What's that sound?!" He didn't enter the elevator, looking everywhere to not get caught off guard.
"Come on. Come on."
He saw nothing until a giant claw from behind grabbed him, pulling him into the back wall of the elevator, where the environment shifted into a cave that was lit by giant gemstones. James, with quick thinking, lasered the claw, which was where it released him. The nanobots protected him after the fall.
"Huh? Where the fuck did you take me bat?"
The Vicious One, in anger, charged toward Ross, swinging its healthy claw. However, Ross jumped up, turning his feet into steel and kicking the bat's chin, where the impact threw it out, going through the hologram, breaking it. That made James raise an eyebrow.
"Huh?!"
He looked around, awed and confused by how spectacular this place was. James walked around to see if he could go through the cave by touching the wall after the bat. A blue hologram, the same as doors, blocked his hand from going out.
'James, stop admiring and find a way out.'
He looked around, 'How did it pass through?' He looked at the place where Viscious One went out, where it was already repaired. 'Oh, I need to be quick to leave, but how do I escape?'
Something came to his mind, 'Maybe I need force, an impact to go through the wall.'
As he was about punch the wall, the Vicious One blurred, and Ross didn't see him, hitting him. He flew into a wall, and the nanobots mitigated most of the damage.
"That speed was different." He stood up; in front of him, the giant bat flapped its wings.
'Hmmm?'
James noticed four orbs hovering around the Vicious One's head, 'They are new!"
These orbs had four colors: turquoise, blue, red, and green. The green one was not glowing like the others and had many cracks. The turquoise orb shone even more as it affected the red sphere, blurring as it dashed toward Ross.
Ross couldn't tell where the sphere went with his Sight; it was that quick. Before he knew it, it hit him in the side, injuring him. 'Ouh, I need to be careful, it found a weakness in my auto armor.'
The turquoise went down from the bat's head, where winds began to form around the claws, and debris from the surrounding area was sucked in. The red stopped attacking after the turquoise orb slowed it by summoning wind.
Ross took the opportunity to punch the red one after it stopped moving.
Ding.
However, the blue one blocked his attack, protecting its allied sphere. In the process, a tiny crack occurred.
Before James could process what happened, the Vicious One with charged wind released the attack as a slash. A sharp wind blew toward Ross.
Ross saw it coming and nearly dodged it, but the red one hit his belly, throwing him to the ground in the middle of jumping away. This time, nanobots were activated.
'Fuck, they don't give me time to think.'
James Ross was in trouble with the Vicious One, closing in with its claws. He punched under it before it could attack him, sending it flying to the ceiling.
Ding!
However, it was okay, flapping its wings. The blue orb absorbed most of the damage; only a small amount of pressure went toward the summon, and the cracks increased. Ross stands up, looking at the four orbs, and gets an idea of how they work, so he hatches a plan.
The red orb attacked, so he threw a punch at where the blue one moved to protect, and he aimed a laser cannon at the Vicious One. The sphere ditched the red to protect the Vicious from the beam. The punch destroyed the red orb, and the blues' cracks were increasing.
"Success!" He celebrated.
The giant bat was mad. With the help of the turquoise, it summoned a wind slash and then dashed toward Ross. However, James avoided the two wind attacks, then transformed his right arm into armor, blocking the claws from his head with both hands.
"Calm down, it was a sphere," James said while the bat was pushing him back slightly from its attack.
He saw he was getting forced into the cave wall, where he put his steel right foot on it, thrusting him up above the Vicious One's head. The bat grabbed onto the wall and flew up to attack Ross, where many wind attacks were released.
"Shit, I have to face this head-on," he was still falling down, so he had nowhere to dodge the winds, so once again he had to block it with both arms.
'Crap, I can't keep blocking attacks.' He landed on the ground. 'I need a way to destroy the blue one.' The Vicious One charged at Ross once again.
James got idea after watching the bat. With an instant, the flying animal attacked Ross. He created a shockwave by slapping his two armored hands together, pushing it back.
Ding!
Ding!
The blue orb absorbed the shock and shattered into pieces by protecting both the Vicious One and the turquoise orb. The giant was mad, so the last remaining helper shone brightly, temporarily blinding James.
"Shit, too bright!" He said while covering his eyes with his arm.
Ross opened his eyes, then he saw, "Are you kidding me? I don't have time for this!"
Surrounding him were not just a single Vicious One; it was multiple, more precisely, a dozen with turquoise orbs circling around their heads. They were perfect clones made by the orb. Ross couldn't tell which one was the real one.
"What?!"
Before he could finish his words, a black square appeared, with multiple copies. Seconds later, it was absorbed into the giant bats. This affected the giant mammoth, allowing it to expand its mouth very wide, where metallic Gatling guns rose up, aiming at James.
"Seriously!" James Ross was annoyed, and, making matters worse, the turquoise orbs circled the guns, turning the bullets into wind attacks.
'Would the nanobots protect me from the bombardment?'
They were charging, so he kept thinking, 'If the nanobots transform my whole body to armor, then my Flow would be completely drained, where I can't help my colleagues."
From his brown jacket, he took a cigarette to smoke, still thinking and focusing on the bat to find the real one. He took a deep breath, and his Sight activated. Throwing the cigarette up, where the sprinklers start pouring water. He thought that because of that, the water started pouring, not because of the fire.
'Crap, they are too much.'
He saw the Flow was about push out of the Gatling guns, firing in the same spot, so he jumped out of the way. He was running away from the countless wind slashes, avoiding them because of his Sight. Even with the basic Flow technique, he was hit a few times from every direction, but his armor protected him.
'I need somewhere to hide, they're drowning my Flow.' He was getting hit by the many Vicious Ones, and he couldn't breathe.
He eventually hid behind giant gem stone where he could take a breath, but the bats surrounded him, completely enclosing him from every direction. However, it overcharged. They start charging again.
"Now!"
James stands up and runs toward the real bat, telling them apart from the tiny drops of water hitting each bat. He fired his laser beam at the real turquoise orb, destroying it, causing every clone vanish, and the winds that circled around the gun were slowly disappearing.
Only the single Vicious One remained, and it charged its attack, firing bullets rapidly. The nanobots protected him until he jumped up, where the bat aimed the gun at him and fired the last wind slash at Ross. James did the same.
The beam and wind clashed until the laser pushed it into the bat, splitting it apart and destroying the ground below them. "Oh, god no." Ross also fell.
