[Shin]
My legs weren't listening to me as I could only stand there, staring at the countless monsters sprinting towards me.
But in the blink of an eye, Rei was suddenly standing in front of me, facing my way, and everything felt like it was in slow motion. Black dust radiated from her.
"Hi there, kid." I fell on the floor, terrified by how ominous her voice had become.
I could still hear her monotone voice but it was as if someone was speaking along with her, a voice that's pure cold, and deep.
And a snarl after the smile that went from ear to ear. She also had this blank stare while her eyes now had different patterns with hints of red slowly becoming more visible.
"Rei?" I nervously say and stare at the hand that she offered.
Her reach paused, eyes bewildered before giggling. I heard two different voices as she grabbed my arms by force to stand me up.
[???]
The kid was asking for her but she was unresponsive to my calls.
"Yoo! Wake up," I shouted inside where she was being kept.
She only kept groaning, the shackles clonking silently.
"I thought you'd control me from here," I mumbled, slipping some of my energy back where she slumbers. "You have become so weak since the last time we did this," circling around her chains as I reminisce about the times we flawlessly executed anything.
Forcing my way through the chains only for some, and not all of them to break loose.
"Back to square one huh," I kept talking to myself as I guided her down, letting some of my energy flow into her body before coming back out to confront the other kid.
[Shin]
"Ahh yes~~" Rei's voice became more fainter as the conversation continued. "The owner of this body—" a man's voice was clearly heard while her's suddenly disappeared.
My shaky legs took a step back but his hands were held up high, eyes bewildered, and he took a step back too.
"Woah woah! Woooahhh," he was shocked. "I'm here to protect you, kid," the skin of her whole arms until the hands that turned into claws were now the color of darkness.
Before I could even react, liquid started to splash on the ground.
"See?" His right hand is now holding a severed head. "Now kid—" He threw it on the ground which my eyes followed.
"Yes?" I answered, returning my focus on him. My thoughts are a mess as I stared at her abyss-like eyes.
He ran both hands through her hair to smooth it out with the blood still dripping from her hands onto her arms. "I want you to keep it a secret—" The grin that followed was unsettling. "Mm'k?" It sounded like a demand I could never refuse.
He started chuckling under his breath after I gave a slight nod.
"Good kid, now sit tight," I once fell on the floor after his claws gently ruffled my hair.
I watched her back as she ran towards the crowd.
[Rei]
My eyes fluttered open in a hurry just to be met with darkness still.
"What's this?" The heavy chains followed the arms I lifted up. "What's going on?" I mumble to myself as pictures of 'my' movements are playing in my mind while all I could see in front of me was black.
It felt like my head was being split apart.
"Groggy are we?" I could hear the voice that got me into this situation. It was in a low murmur, calm, and deliberate but enough to make the hair in my neck rise.
"What's the situation right now?" I lay down and rested on the cold yet comfortably hard floor.
"Can't you just see for yourself?" He sounded irritated. His bare strength was enough to tear into the heart of an unOrdinary.
"Where's Shin?" My voice panicked at the thought of him breaking the agreement.
"Shut up for a moment will you?" He screamed, pulling apart the arms of an unOrdinary right out of their body. "I shouldn't have woken you up," he groaned, jumping on another monster as he rips open the head.
"Where is he?" My voice panicked and raised, chains shouting with me.
"Relax~" His calm demeanor made me furious further. "He's enjoying the show right over—," Running towards another one, locking my legs on its head and spinning around to bring the body down before smashing the head with his hands clenched as a fist onto the floor. "There!" He continued, looking in Shin's direction only for a brief moment.
But it was enough to burn his expression in my mind.
"You left him watching?!" A sudden burst of anger from myself. "You could've at least told him to close his eyes," I nagged while he continued ripping up bodies after another.
"You're too demanding," he whined in a protest. "I'm already keeping him safe."
"Well, tell Cedrick to kill the lights then!" I snapped, giving another alternative.
"Dunno how to and—," he cuts his sentence as I saw him take a huge bite off of a heart he just dug out in an instant out of the buffed unOrdinary that started to charge at him. "I don't wanna," a loud screech of excitement ripped from the throat he's borrowing from me.
As if he were asserting his territory and engraving it to multiple unOrdinary that slowly started to quiver. Making an example of the strongest of them right now.
The unOrdinary that almost killed squashing me on the wall, defeated with one swift move. The monster who I entrusted my body to was unmistakenly strong.
I gagged at the wretched sight and nauseating taste which I unknowingly knew it being shared.
A faint taste of burned meat lingered in the back of my throat as a sand-like texture invaded my tongue.
"Other than fighting," I gasped for air after I threw up. "You're utterly useless," I blurted out in an instant while my mouth opened once more to excrete more unpleasant leftovers.
It only laughed then took a bite off of a severed arm. "I hope you're enjoying yourself in there," his maniacal laughter echoed in the space where I was.
"YOU ASSHOLE" I shouted, still throwing up at another indescribable tasting session.
[Shin]
"You fucker!" dodging the next three back-to-back attacks from the monsters just right after she reverted to her normal self.
No claws, black dust, and even the mysterious voice vanished after her repeated swears.
I've never heard her shout that loudly before.
"You dumb traitor!" Evading every attempted grab that came.
Sliding down on her knees on the way towards me, she picked up a broken metal pipe and used it to strike the monsters with full force, swinging her flimsy-looking arms.
"Are you alright?" Her panicked voice sounded new to me as she inspected my head to my toes with her anxious stares.
"I'm all good," I instantly replied and mistakenly letting out a yelp after her exhausted body picked me up from the ground.
"Give me that," she yanks the gun out of my grip and occasionally glances behind to shoot. But only the first one had the explosion. I heard her click her tongue before she let me down when we had enough distance.
"Here," she handed me the metal pipe. "Keep your eyes sharp and just shout my name when one comes your way," she couldn't even stay longer to hear my response.
I held it like my life depended on it...
Well, it kind of does...
Knives were suddenly in her palm after pulling something from her clothing.
"O' great and mighty you," she started to shout randomly. "Show yourself and let me worship thee!" She continued as she ran once more into the almost thinned out crowd and leaving me behind in one spot.
