It was late at night and we were on the look out for the mysterious hooded man or woman or other.
Gus was peeking out the window with binoculars.
"That fucker is bound to appear soon...I can feel it" he said, not even once lowering the binoculars from his freckled face.
"Don't tempt fate" I said, swallowing the lump of anxiety in my throat.
"Calma Charlie, it'll be fine" Ricky reassured. I was in fact not reassured despite Ricky talking to me in that soft baritone voice with that Spanish lilt. Suddenly there was a rustling in the bushes then he came. The hooded figure....standing at the base of the tree where our tree fort was. He,she, them looked up and straight at us.
"You shouldn't follow us" the hooded figure said with a loud booming voice. He was definitely male.
"OH yeah and what are ya gonna do about it?" Gus retorted.
"The Order of Cthulu will make sure you never live to tell the tale..." the hooded figure said then he just disappeared. One blink and he was just...gone.
"I think we just stumbled upon a cult" I said, all color drained from my face.
