"Your Highness, you can't possibly agree to throw away the life of a Half God Plane expert," a Gnome said, voicing his concern.
"What would you have us do, then? Can you kill the human boy?" the Emperor asked in a calm tone. He showed no anger, even though he was being questioned by a subordinate.
At the Emperor's question, the Gnome who had voiced his concern dropped his head. He had heard of Grey's strength and of the forces around him, and he dared not claim he could achieve what countless others had failed to.
"But the agreement…" another Gnome murmured.
The Emperor stood up from his throne and, placing both hands behind his back, slowly walked down the steps.
"That's why, once the boy is killed, the killer will take his own life in front of the humans. That way, they won't be able to hold it against us. After all, it's worthless to fight over a dead boy," he said as he walked toward the exit of the main hall.
Everyone remained silent as they watched the Emperor leave.
