Chapter 1 - The boy next door.

Heather lived in a quiet neighborhood where everyone knew each other. Her father was the pastor of the small church on the corner, and people in the community often looked to their family for guidance.

Heather tried her best to live up to the expectations placed on her. She loved reading, writing in her journal, and helping at the church youth group.

One sunny afternoon while she was watering the flowers on her porch, a moving truck pulled up next door. Boxes were stacked high, and a teenage boy jumped out of the truck to help carry them inside.

He noticed Heather standing there and gave a small wave.

"Hey," he said with a friendly smile. "I'm Tyler. I guess I'm the new neighbor."

Heather smiled back politely.

"Hi, I'm Heather. Welcome to the neighborhood."

Little did Heather know that meeting Tyler would teach her an important lesson about kindness, faith, and understanding others.

Tyler wasn't like the kids Heather usually spent time with at church. He was funny, outgoing, and sometimes a little rebellious.

At first, Heather wasn't sure what to think about him. She had grown up in a very structured home where rules were important and faith guided every decision.

Tyler, on the other hand, seemed to live life freely.

One afternoon he leaned over the fence and said,

"So what do you do for fun around here?"

Heather thought for a moment.

"I go to youth group at my dad's church. Sometimes we volunteer in the community."

Tyler raised an eyebrow.

"That actually sounds pretty cool," he said. "I've never really been to church before."

Heather realized something in that moment.

Maybe Tyler didn't need judgment.

Maybe he just needed someone to show him kindnes
