Chapter 7 - 6 Short Blade Master and Engaged?

Days of travelling had given the knights some time to grieve for there fallen ally, Also the trade had gone off without a hitch. The bad news is that someone has to tell his wife that her husband died in the line of duty.

Even though Lucius gave orders Luke was technically in charge so he didn't really have a choice other than to tell the woman her husband passed on. As expected the women didn't take it well and broke down crying, the only female knight did her best to comfort her understanding having a husband and daughter herself.

Sad it was she would still have her son and sister and a monthly payment from the Lord do to a special rule. Though it wasn't much it was more than enough to feed them until they could get back on their feet.

Having reached his personal training grounds while training taking a look at the blades he obtained 'Loss it's truly inevitable isn't it' Lucius had flashes of losing his father and it didn't feel to great. 'Why am I having these thoughts nothing short of the heavens could kill him.

Maybe this is an omen I should not ignore this but I can't tell father he has enough problems to deal with as it stands.' Now how do I use these troubling father is not my intention right now.'

Now having the opportunity to get a good look at the blades they were black with a blue outline along the edges of the blades. Nearly 7 inches long with a curve going backwards the exact purpose they did was unknown the Lucius at the moment.

The grips needed to be replaced, and a sharpening was in order as well. I can get them restored easily, now I need someone who can train me to use them.

"Short blades not many use them nowadays" A voice stated catching Lucius off guard.

Turning around there was Yorick the head butler 'again I will get answers this time'.

"How is it that you manage to get near me undetected?" Lucius asked with suspicion in his eyes. "Have you heard of the white phantom young master?" Yorick asked looking at the open field with his hands behind him.

"A true master of assassination that no one has survived encountering and never feel his presence until it's to late".

Connecting the dots Lucius now knew why.

"That was you wasn't it Yorick?" Lucius asked looking at his butler's back, the wind blew for a moment and the old man spoke turning around.

"Indeed it was but that's a story for when you are older now you require a trainer I will be more than happy to teach you the ways of assassination but you will do them on my terms are we clear? he said with the hardened expression that made Lucius a sweat a little.

Having made his decision.

"I accept having magic is great but I need close combat skills Incase I encounter others that will be up close and personal." Yorick could see the determination in his eye's 'Just like your father'. "Very well meet me here at sunset everyday and while you train I am not Yorick address me as master, any task provided shall be done without fail." He stated now leaving the training ground

'Now I now how he gets me every time.' I will find the answers to that picture all those years ago. Remembering the demon reaching for the child that night. Noticing how the dark it was Lucius headed to his room for a shower and call it a night.

Entering the house a maid had stopped him "Young master lady Elaine calls for you." Following the maid he was lead to his mother's study.

Opening the door there stood a beautiful women with black hair reaching the mid back, standing 5'6 in height with honey brown eyes and and heart shaped face. Wearing a Purple dress that was frilly, diamond earrings and a necklace with a Griffon on it.

"You may leave us." the maid bowed and left closing the doors behind her. There was now a awkward silence before Lucius spoke "What reason have you called me mother" though he addressed her as mother there was no affection.

"Son I have a something you may need to here." Elaine said nervously not sure how he would react. "Well on with it." he said wanting to get this over with. His mother always did try to bond with him but he put up a barrier only father could bring down.

"You are engaged son" This struck like a bolt to the chest, "Who did you marry me off too" glowing dangerously his hair standing up moon powers activating subconsciously.

Elaine had only seen this when her husband made it clear that there was no debate about certain things, to say she wasn't afraid would be an understatement "I-i um got you engaged to Lord Siegfried's daughter Camilla". Elaine now looking away

"What reason have you been given to arrange a marriage that I didn't ask for?" glowing blue hair standing up. Elaine had never seen this power her son was exerting before.

"Lucius please understand that I did this to ensure your future." "This engagement have it cancelled I have no time for members of the opposite sex for the time being" he said with a hardened expression.

Elaine wasn't sure how to tell so being blunt was the best choice in her mind "I can't it has been signed in blood" looking guilty. "I still didn't ask for this, I'll have to speak with lord Siegfried so this mistake can be rectified."

Thinking about what to as to not offend the man who holds the rank of Duke right under the royal family. "Son" his mother said with her head down. Lucius was a little on edge and right he was.

"Lucius why do you avoid contact with members of opposite sex, for gods sake you don't even spend time with your sisters or me?" spoken with hurt in her voice.

"That not a question I plan to answer if that is all I will take my leave." Lucius leaving the room to take a bath and retire for the night.'

'How do I get the Duke to break off this marriage without an uproar happening' Lucius was in panic mode right now.
