Chapter 14 - Secret World

This chapter is a POV of Maya, with Adrien:

"HE'S CATCHING UP!" I yelled as we ran faster and faster. We then saw a weird slide. Once we got in front of it, Gooey was finally at eyes view but before I could take in his presence, I was pushed down the slide then Aiden followed immediately after me. We held unto each other as pressure increased. I was between his legs as his hands where around me. Then we started screaming un top of our lungs.

"We are gonna dieeeeeeeeee!" He yelled. "Oh shut up, big baby." I said, hitting his arm. Then the scenery of the slide started to change. It seemed we where sliding on air, and this place felt different, new air, new....world. We looked around at the advanced universe.

"What in the world-" I heard Aiden say. He was as shocked as I was. That was until we tried to reach his hand outside of the invisible slide and then we ended up spinning vigorously in thin air, until we landed on a bunch of fluffy clouds. Wow, gets weirder and weirder.

"Oh my God." I breathed out, taking in the wonderful scenery. It was like our world 2.0. It looked so futuristic, even flying cars everywhere. "Are we in the future?" Aiden sighed out. I got up and lent him a helping hand. We then decided to move around and explore this new world around us, that was until we ran into a boy around our age, playing with a girl either 6 or 7.

"'Ello!" The boy said, waving at us. "Do we know him." Aiden mumbled to me. "No idea." I mumbled back. He then came running to us with the girl behind him. "'Ello! You must be new to Maloptinta." He said cheerfully. "Maloptinta? What a name." Aiden snickered until I used my elbow to hit his rib. "Oww." He whined. "Don't mind him." I said, shutting him up with my hand over his lips. "Nice to meet you, I'm Maya and this is Aiden, my friend. Who are you 2?" I asked.

"I am Keith and this is my sister Joanna. Welcome to Maloptinta. I have a feeling you must be coming from the wondering forest." Keith, apparently, explained. I spotted Aiden eyeing the boy and his sister suspiciously making me wonder, we have never seen this slide before. "How are we sure we can trust you?" Aiden asked, glaring at the boy more with a glint of realization in his eyes, making me wonder what he thought.

The boy, Keith, couldn't seem to answer. He just stared blankly at both of us. "Ello there. You can trust us cause we're harmless." The boy replied late, causing Aiden to nod slowly. Aiden then grabbed my hand and pulled me behind him as he whispered, "Walk away slowly". I stared at him, confused, until I saw Keith's face glitch, unrealistically. We began walking backwards slowly but then the little girl, Joanna, shrieked at the top of her longs, causing us to block our ears with both hands.

"We have to run!" Aiden yelled at the top of his lungs so I could hear. I grabbed his hand and we both ran, the scream gradually getting louder and louder. We ran into an alley between 2 futuristic buildings but where soon met with Keith and Joanna in our path. "There you guys are." Keith bellowed, his face glitching aggressively from angry to smiling uncontrollably fast. "What do you want with us?" Aiden asked, visibly looking scared. "Play with me." Joanna said in a voice that sounded like it was whispered by 15 women.

I looked up at Aiden and he looked down at me, not knowing the next move. "Aiden, what do we do?" I questioned, hoping he had an answer, but he just shrugged and sighed in despair. "Fine, we'll play with you." I sighed out, turning back to the siblings but they were gone. Aiden blinked at the spot where they used to be, obviously as confused as me, until we heard a booming voice eochoing all around from every direction. "If you want to find a way out, first find me." The whispery voice of Joanna boomed across the sky.

"Oh my God, this game doesn't sound fun." I whispered, gulping loudly. "Then we better start. There are probably clues hidden around." Aiden triumphed, dragging me to the spot where the siblings stood before which not had the words scratched on the sand saying, 'Riddle 1- I was giving to you but you didn't ask for me. I was there at your birth and will be there on your last breath'.

"Your name?" Aiden guessed, quite unsure. "Correct!" The whispery voice boomed. I staired at Aiden in disbelief and he just smirked. "I didn't know you could think." I gasped, wiping off the smirk on his face immediately. I laughed, causing him to pull a lock of my blonde hair making me yelp in pain. He finally let go and chuckled off as I stared at him in annoyance. Then the scenery began going blurry and blood rushed to me head. The last thing I heard was Aiden's concerned voice before everything went black.
