Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

woke up the next morning excited, why you ask. That is simple...fucking powers. I have been waiting for this moment since the day I was born, Literally. I feel like a kid during Christmas or their birthday. I keep asking myself what I will do with the powers I get. With great power comes a great fucking time. Fuck responsibilities; what are those. In my previous life, I had to take care of my siblings, make sure my mom didn't forget to pay the bills, go to work...blah..blah...blah. NOW, I am a kid with zero responsibilities and about to get powers. You think I won't abuse my powers; then you don't know me. Abusing powers is what everyone would do; if you say that you wouldn't, you are lying to yourself and your friends.

I quickly went into the bathroom to get freshen up. I didn't want to look bad in front of a someone that was going to help me, and first impressions are everything. I wanted the professor to realize that I was worth teaching and worth spending time on.

Making my way to the kitchen to meet up with Grace. I saw her in the dining room, talking to an older man. The man had dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes; he was bald and looked like a nice man. When they saw me, both of them stopped talking. I noticed that the older man was looking at me while narrowing his eyes.

"Grace, I am assuming that this is the lad that you wanted me to teach," The man asked.

"Yes, that is corrected, John."

The man turned to face Grace and said with a stern voice, "You know that if he is not a wizard, we both could be in trouble for this. I have a reputation to keep you know."

"Believe me, John, I am well aware of this."

As they were talking, I couldn't remember who this person was. I know that he most have been in the movies somewhere but couldn't really recall; during the 8 years that I have been here, it is getting harder to remember exactly what happens or who people are. I know Voldemort will return when harry does some tournament or some shit. I know Dumbledore is kind of a manipulator but is trying to do good. I know a couple of other things, but most of the things are a blur.

"Darius, let us go to my office," said Grace, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Okay," I replied

"Wait, Grace, what about the other kids. Won't they miss breakfast if you are not cooking" I asked her

"Don't worry about that Darius."

When we were making our way towards Grace`s office, I couldn't help but feel nervous. What were they going to talk to me about, and what if I wasn't good enough. I needed to put the thoughts behind me cause worrying about it is not going to solve anything. I will learn what we will talk about when we get there.

A few minutes later, we entered her office. Grace's office was pretty nice. It was a decent size with a fireplace in the middle. There was a desk with two chairs on the other side of it; it was a cozy room, to say the least. Grace gestured me to sit in the left chair, while the man sat on the right,

When we sat down, the man was still looking at me, and I felt uncomfortable about his stare. After a few seconds of looking at me, he sighed, looked at Grace, and said, "Grace, first magic is not allowed in the muggle world, and second when he caught you using magic, you should have cast the charm Obliviate. Even if he is a child, he shouldn't know about it."

Grace looked at me and then looked at the man with a serious look. I have never seen Grace look like that. To be honest, this was really starting to make me feel uncomfortable.

"John, do you think I haven't? When I used the charm on him, he was immune to it. I gave up on it and told him not to tell the other children."

What were they talking about. What was the charm Obliviate? What did it do? Why was Grace casting spells on me. I really should have paid more attention to the movies about this world.

Horace looked at me and then looked at Grace. The expression on his face was a complete shock. He took a few minutes to calm down before saying, "Grace, are you sure about this."

"Yes, I am sure, if you don't, believe me, I can show you watch," Grace replied, she continued and said

Darius, I want you to watch me use this spell okay," Grace said

"Okay, Grace,". I have seen Grace use spells before, so it shouldn't be bad to watch. Watching her use magic was usually fun, but this time felt different.

Grace took out her wand and pointed at one of her pens on the desk. She did a slight movement with her wand and said, "Wingardium Leviosa". It was a simple spell that had objects levitate, I had seen her use this spell before, so I wasn't too bothered by it.

After completing the spell, Grace looked at me and did another spell at me. After a few minutes she said "Darius do you remember what spelled I used" I know that she had asked this question before, so again I wasn't bothered by the question. What bothered me was that the man was staring at me even more than before

"You cast a spell that made the pen fly, you did a movement with your wand and said something like Winggardim leaviosa or something like that, right?" I asked her

When I said that, the man looked at me even more shocked, he got from his chair and said

"BLOODY HELL! GRACE, you were right. The boy is immune to it. That is incredible to think he would only be immune after seeing a spell. Interesting."

I looked at Grace, confused, and said, "Grace, what was this about."

"Nothing, Darius, just a small test, if you will. Please meet your potion tutor John Netherback. He is a good friend of mine from when I use to work in the Ministry."

"Okay, Grace." I looked at my new tutor and said, "Thank you, Mr. Netherback, for taking the time to tutor an orphan like me. I will try my best."

"Good Lad, Grace, as promised, I will take the boy for today and see if he has talent in potion-making. If he does, then I will continue to teach him; if he doesn't, then I won't waste my time with him."

"Agreed"

"Darius, I want you to go with John for the day, okay."

"Okay, Grace, I will."

"John, you will find my potion set up in the secret book next to my office."

"Very well," He replied to her; he then looked at me and said, "Time to see if you have talent, boy" After he said that, he got up from his chair and started walking to the door.

I quickly got up and followed after him. The whole time feeling better that I wasn't in that situation anymore. I know nothing happened, but it just didn't feel right. 'I guess I will be making potions today,' I thought with a smile on my face.
