Chapter 32 - Fictional Non-Fiction (L)

Lukas took the first swing and clashed against his opponent's blades with a furious look on his face whilst Al's smile only widened despite that seeming completely impossible at the time. "Is everything here real or fake? Make up your mind already and stick to your decision." Al demanded as Lukas' indecisive nature seemed to be annoying even to him. "I'll make a decision once I'm standing over your rotting corpse!" Lukas yelled back as he tried to prevent the enemy's words from getting into his head. "Avoiding the questions now, are we? That's what a coward would do. Didn't Eanaro also call you out for being a coward? That's twice in a week already... maybe you should just admit that it's the truth." Al continued to insult Lukas as the two's weapons pushed against each other which caused a few sparks to fly out from between them.

"Shut up already!" Lukas shouted as he began to force Al's blades back. Al retaliated by gently pushing his blades against the incoming force which launched Lukas back to his original position as he rolled across the invisible ground. "What the hell are you?" Lukas asked as he attempted to catch his breath and stand up. "Well according to you, I'm both a vision that your mind created and also a real person that you once met. Which is it? I can't be both at once, fictional non-fiction just doesn't make sense." Al stated as his blades floated behind him and he crossed his arms. "This whole thing doesn't make sense. Just shut up and start fighting back already!" Lukas ordered Al as he got back up and pointed one of his blades at them. "Alright, if you want me to start trying already then I guess I can." Al said as one of his blades slowly floated back into his hand which he then pointed back at Lukas.

Suddenly, the blade of Al's weapon split open to reveal a thin cannon that was placed within. Before Lukas could even react, the cannon fired a laser straight towards him which hit his shoulder and forced him to drop his weapon. Thankfully, no blood came from the injury... although that only made Lukas question how real everything that he was currently experiencing was. "What... the hell... is happening!?" Lukas asked as tears fell from his face and his hair completely turned red. "There's more to soul weapons than you know, although your weapons are incapable of doing the stuff that mine can at the moment." Al explained as he grabbed his other weapon. "What the hell am I supposed to do here?" Lukas thought to himself. "It's rather simple, actually." Al replied because of course he could read Lukas' thoughts as well.

"If I were you, I'd just use the instructions that my favourite song from my world said; 'If you want to get out alive... run for your life.'" Al spoke which made Lukas stare at him with with annoyance covering his face. "Why are you even doing this? I've done nothing to deserve this!" Lukas exclaimed as he fell to the floor sobbing. "You don't know if that's true... in fact, I'm willing to bet that you don't even believe what you've just said." Al stated with a laugh as he shook his head. "Look, all I want to do is have a happy life. I don't know what I did before that may have hurt you but whatever it is, I'm sorry. I would try and make it right but I don't even know what I've done wrong." Lukas explained as his weapons disappeared and he looked up at Al. It took Al a few seconds to process what Lukas just said as he stared at his opponent with a blank face whilst he thought to himself.

"You... you really don't remember anything, huh?" Al asked as he gazed at Lukas with a slight bit of scepticism on his face. "If I knew what had happened to me, then I bet that I wouldn't be questioning everything that happened so far." Lukas replied as his rage began to dissipate along with the red colouring of his hair. "I guess that's true. Who's to say that you're not faking it though?" Al questioned Lukas as he continued to tightly grip his weapons. "I might be a coward but I wouldn't stoop so low as to lie about so many things, at that point, I might as well be lying about everything in life." Lukas stated which seemed reasonable to Al.

After hearing Lukas' statement, Al nodded and threw his weapons behind him which then disappeared soon afterwards. "Well, I don't exactly have any smart remark that can refute that point so I'll just believe you... for now." Al said with a much more reasonable smile on his face as he offered his hand to Lukas. "Wait, what? That's really all it takes to get your trust?" Lukas inquired as he slowly and cautiously took Al's hand. "Well, I mean all it took for me to do this was a close friend of mine telling me to... so yes, it really is that easy to get me to do relatively anything." Al explained as he pulled Lukas to his feet. "Also, don't worry about the injuries; this is all happening inside your head and the wounds don't carry over into the real world." Al clarified before Lukas got the chance to ask anything.

"Oh... alright then. I don't want to seem rude because we've just met and all but... how do I get out of here and back to the real world?" Lukas asked as he tried not to be disrespectful. "It's simple, you fall asleep in one world and you wake up in the other one. In the mental world, you can fall asleep in either way and you'll just wake up in the physical one." Al explained as he put his hands behind his back. "Wait, what do you mean by 'You can fall asleep in either way'?" Lukas questioned Al as he tried his best to comprehend the world around him. "Well, you can either fall asleep normally or... like this." Al spoke as he quickly summoned his weapon before pointing it at Lukas' head as it split open. "W-Wait, what are yo-" Lukas quickly began asking before a laser shot through his skull and his body jolted awake in the physical world.
