Faye's voice was neither too light nor too heavy, yet extremely assertive, delivering the command word by word, "Tessa Caldwell, from now on, you're not allowed to go out after seven in the evening, and if you do, you must be home by nine."
"Why? I'm not doing that!" Tessa instinctively replied.
Then she saw Faye's expression turn terrifying in that instant, but it quickly returned to normal. Tessa thought it was a hallucination, or maybe she was seeing things.
In Tessa's bewildered gaze, Faye didn't give her the right to argue.
He smirked, curling his lips, "If you can't do it, I'll call your father over…"

What the hell! Is this guy threatening me again?
What does it matter to him if I go out at night or what time I come back? Even her dad never managed her like this; who does Faye think he is? The head of the household?!… After all, they're just in a contract marriage; what right does he have to control her?
