Tessa Caldwell felt something was strange; after spending a few days with Lauren, she knew Lauren never woke up early, nor did she eat breakfast. Why was she suddenly becoming so diligent, claiming she always got up early?
Cian Channing sensed something amiss and quickly tried to lighten the mood: "Not feeling very well; got up early to take a walk and breathe some fresh air. The doctor said the illness would recover faster."
"That's true." Tessa nodded, not thinking much of it. "So, are you feeling better?"
Cian smiled, "Much better," then held her stomach, "I'm so hungry!"
Tessa hurriedly said, "There's breakfast on the table, go have some. I need to sleep a bit more. Those two little ones almost drove me mad last night... Ah, they were right in saying it feels like having them back inside..."
She muttered, complaining softly as she went upstairs.
She was just being honest, but to Cian, it sounded like she was showing off.
She ground her teeth.
