Su Li answered calmly, causing Qiao Ling's smile to freeze briefly before she shifted her gaze to Su Li's slightly protruding belly. "Is Sister-in-law here to see a Chinese doctor? Are you feeling unwell?"
Tang Nian's face turned dark, and she said bluntly, "Qiao Ling, you'd better watch your mouth."
Qiao Ling didn't seem too upset and instead raised an eyebrow and retorted, "People come here to see a doctor, so did I say something wrong? If she's not here for a check-up, could it be you?"
Tang Nian was about to say more, but Su Li stopped her. Tang Nian's impulsive nature meant her words would likely be harsh. Though Tang Family's influence made such concerns unnecessary, it was best not to provoke petty people like Qiao Ling too much.
"What about Mrs. Li? Coming here alone, is there something bothering you physically?"
Qiao Ling's smile faded. "Just a routine check, nothing else."
