Luosong could no longer form a complete sentence. He forced himself to ask, "If in the end we still can't find the Envoy, are you really going to kill Elizabeth Li Yang?"
Moritz did not answer, but Luosong already had his answer.
"She's innocent," Luosong said in pain.
"No one is innocent," Sister Felt walked into the prayer room and repeated coldly, "No one is innocent, Major, least of all Elizabeth Li Yang."
Luosong slumped back onto the pew.
Moritz looked at the Major; a trace of pity flashed in his eyes, but only for that brief instant.
"I really might not be suited for this job," Luosong murmured.
"Stop sniveling. Weren't you very brave when you were playing the hero?" Sister Felt came in, pinching two pills between her fingers. "Take these."
Luosong numbly swallowed the two grape-sized pills.
"How is Elizabeth Li Yang's condition?" the Major asked.
"Shouldn't be too serious, the stab didn't go very deep," Luosong replied.
"Mentally."
