The young man, sitting cross-legged, jumped up and ran without looking back. His feet, touching the ground he had just broken with his fist, trembled so much that his body swung with every step. It was only a matter of time before he reached the door on the other side of the cellar.
"And you shamelessly run away!"
The young man reached the door, touched its pulling ring, but was blocked by pale blue energy. Within seconds, the color of the door turned to ice. It was no longer possible to get through.
After his escape plan was foiled, Kasper took two deep breaths, managed to suppress the vibrations in his body, and slowly turned around.
"Grandpa, forgive me!"
Kasper, getting into motion without wiping the tears falling on his freckled face, hugged the knees of the middle-aged man who entered through the door in a few breaths. How tragicomic that the person he tried to escape a second ago was the same person he pleaded with for help.
