When the longsword wreathed in flames struck the other sword about to pierce Mel's heart, crimson sparks scattered into the air. Gorgana fell back a pace, and Edgan, stepping in front of his friend, forged a wall of fire capable of defending them both.
The repelled woman seemed frozen; without moving a single pace from where she stood, she watched the two youths. Then she began to laugh; her increasingly hysterical laughter tortured the ears of the over a hundred people filling the area.
"Beautiful, absolutely beautiful! Abelionni truly hasn't returned empty-handed this time!"
Then the black sword vanished; Gorgana spun around and began to walk with massive strides unexpected from her short stature.
"Elida, the Academy Leader is waiting for us. How much longer are you going to dawdle?"
