His gaze rested on the two women he had encountered in the first seconds of his arrival at the Outer Circle, and they must have noticed this, turning their backs to respond. The two women wielding dual daggers did not look pleased by Mel's attention; Baybars had seen his own reflection on the gleaming surfaces of the daggers turned toward them.
"Mel, face front. Do you want to get us killed?"
Sensing the Kapo trembling as he gripped his right arm, Mel slowed his steps. Baybars was helpless; it was impossible to speed up the massive disciple unless he wanted to, and one of the two female fighters was taking her first step toward them.
"They're coming, the horde of wild beasts is coming!"
