Not even half an hour had elapsed since the sun breached the horizon; the chirping of birds flooded into the two-story building through the hole Mel had carved, and a voice they hadn't heard before was summoning them outside. The forty youths were cautious; this could be an ambush, and until one of the Wind Element users verified they were overseers donning the Red Claw Academy Uniform, not a single soul abandoned their position.
"Don't be shy, get out here!"
The loud-voiced overseer roared with a laugh this time; his tone carried the traces of impatient anticipation unique to bastards who knew exactly what they were about to encounter and couldn't wait for it. Despite this, the young students inside the two-story structure didn't step outside; they waited patiently to be summoned one more time.
"Get over here right now, you trash! You have one minute, or you'll start the day without breakfast!"
