Chapter 1 - The Room

I love to travel, and one particular experience still haunts me. It was a dark and stormy night, and I had to find a place to stay. I came across an old hotel, which seemed neat and clean despite its age. The receptionist gave me the key to room 107, and as I walked through the empty hallway, I couldn't shake off the feeling of eeriness. The room was clean and smelled like fresh roses, but I was too tired to appreciate it. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

But at 3:00 am, I was jolted awake by strange noises coming from the room next to mine. I tried to go back to sleep, but then I heard a knock on my door. I opened it to find a beautiful girl standing in front of me. She looked terrified and pleaded, "Help me, please. Hide me somewhere." Without thinking, I let her in and offered her a glass of water. She was hesitant to reveal what was happening, but she whispered, "They want to kill me because I know their secrets." I asked her who wanted to kill her and what secrets she was talking about, but she refused to answer, fearing for our lives.

Feeling shocked and confused, I tried to change the subject to calm her down. I asked her name, and she replied, "Meera." We talked for hours, and I couldn't believe how fast the night was passing. But when I woke up, she was gone. I searched the entire hotel, but she was nowhere to be found. I called the police, thinking something terrible had happened to her. After their investigation, I was stunned to learn that Meera was a former staff member who had committed suicide in the same room two years ago, on the same day and at the same time - 3:00 am. The reasons behind her suicide remained unknown.

I was shaken to realize that the girl who had spent the night with me was a ghost. I quickly packed my belongings and left the hotel, feeling a mix of fear and sadness. As I drove away, I turned around for one last look and saw Meera smiling and waving goodbye, as if we were friends. It's been a year since then, but I still can't get over the experience. I keep hearing her voice in my ears, and it feels like she's still watching over me.

The Room... it's a memory that haunts me to this day.
