In just over ten days, the baby's eyes have opened, but at this point, he actually can't see.
His eyes aren't fully functional yet and can only perceive a kind of blurry light blob. His visual nerves are still growing, and it will take another month or two before he can fully see.
So at this time, touch is the baby's only way to perceive the world.
The baby responds enthusiastically to Lynch's finger gestures, grasping with his tiny red hands but failing to take hold.
People are always amazing, or rather, all living beings are amazing, growing from an invisible tiny speck to something so big, and then even bigger.
