sPerseus came to spectate Spade's final pathetic effort to survive but little did he know of what unfolded. Perseus became annoyed at how lucky this man is, first he was saved by Alfron who managed to escape his own magic prison just in the nick of time when it should have taken him much longer, perhaps a year or two but no, he came out in a few days and with stronger magic even, then there is Crystal who seem to always be there for him when he needed the most, furthermore was the most unexpected person who not only saved Spade from Rexcarius but from a poison arrow he struck towards Spade but instead it was Lacquer that got hit.
Perseus felt an ache in his heart that now he did not feel much like the chosen one any longer because here he witness a man whom the gods so favored that he just will not die no matter how bad of a situation Perseus put him in and even against fighting the Benevolent monster known as Rexcarius who's magic is beyond everything that Perseus can desire and work for. Perseus held both despise and jealousy for Spade but at the same time he saw a pawn that he can use, fooling this fool was easy enough, now it is all about getting him to do his bidding for lucky is all that Spade is for the man who believe himself to be the messiah that will bring upon a new world.
Things are not going to be so easy for Perseus however as now he is under Rexcarius' fingers and now a great number of options presents itself to him, the simplest is to kill the true culprit of he poisoning and his only counter, Lacquer. It certainly would not be hard for him, however there are consequences to being the most powerful mage in the continent and also in killing Perseus, the man who rivalled Spade Escroc's scheming but without the need for knowledge from another world.
Certainly these two are in a league of their own and Rexcarius found Perseus much more efficient as a pawn than Spade who is just a catastrophe waiting to happen, a gun up his head who uses his own children as the bullets and with proper development, the three has the potential to surpass even him in every way but to do so, Spade Escroc plays a key role in developing their full potential however Rexcarius simply cannot let this man act so freely, but playing a hand in preventing him is inefficient that is where Perseus shall prove useful, as the storm that mellows down the wildfire.
Yes killing both threats now is easy and both of these men can certainly prove to be much more than nuisance if left alone but such dangers is the cost for harvesting their value. Yes, the path of the insane is often the one that bears most riches, but also the one with the deepest despair.
Rexcarius pauses and in that pause he let Perseus run away and Lacquer recover dealing an attack of is own.
"Tucana" and upon his cast, the stars once more glowed in a bright yellow light and a bird like creature appeared and went towards Rexcarius.
Perhaps it was a challenge or an insult that Lacquer uses the constellations, spells that Rexcarius taught to him and now is used against him. Lacquer rarely used these spells in their days as it was always Rexcarius' trademark magic spells but now it seems that it is all that he uses and for reasons that only Lacquer knows and Rexcarius can never understand.
He shall punish Lacquer however for playing this cards against the dealer and defended in a likewise fashion.
"Triangulum Australe" and in a similar way the stars lit up but now with a brilliant blue shine twice the size of Lacquer's spells and from there came a pyramid that crushed the toucan and fell down to Lacquer. Rexcarius is not one for trickery nor holding back and at the same fashion, he hates it when peole hold back against him, especially Lacquer who can do much better than to use his inferior spells against him.
Lacquer changed it up a notch and casted a spell that Rexcarius had not taught him.
"Eclipse", preventing the pyramid from falling down in him, Lacquer casted Alfron's signature spell instead of Rexcarius' this time and giant boulder bigger than what Alfron has casted before now crushed the pyramid with its massive size and Lacquer released it towards Rexcarius.
"Sun beam" And with that the sun grew bright and from its rays, disintegrated the boulder but having shard propel everywhere. It seems Rexcarius played along and similar to Lacquer used his child's signature move and to everyone watching it was absolutely mesmerizing and the fight no longer seemed like that of two sorcerers but that of powerful monsters.
"Sagittarius"
A giant centaur then came forth with a valiant long bow and the majestic familiar then hurled arrows towards Rexcarius.
"Scorpio"
From bellow the ground, underneath the sands came an enormous scorpion rivalling the centaur and with believable speed it defended against the arrows and with its poisonous tail attacked the centaur.
It seemed the two settled on Zyderine's zodiacs as the deciding magic affinity and they both fought in an unbelievable fashion far beyond f any familiars that Zyderine could summon despite it being her magic affinity.
From afar Zyderine could only look, just barely recovered from the poison and she stood in awe of how powerful her zodiacs could become under the right people.
Those not hypnotized by the show could only notice one thing between this ferocious encounter, the two Rexcarius and Lacquer did not seem like they were killing each other but instead like children joyously play fighting.
Even after everything, Lacquer's words remained true. He never hated Rexcarius, he loves his friend. Even after all that has happened.

Upon reaching adolescence the fruits of labor between the two friend's work in helping each other started bearing fruit and it became visible in the appearance of the two. The once meek and terrified Lacquer now walked with confidence, knowing he has the power that everyone prayed for him to have and Rexcarius is no longer the unbearable arrogant brat he was who spoke of things that the uneducated could not understand because now he has learned to become more social and can tinker the the little parts of his personality to fit those he talked to.
As things were looking up for the two however, the opposite was for the province of Cebunilla as the Heidcheyser empire was beginning its complete invasion and it starts with the kidnap of Lara Tidelode, Lacquer' sister and an unlucky little girl playing with her named April Wrine.
Upon waking up Lacquer received a letter in front of his doorstep and it seemed that his parents did not notice who it was because they were busy looking for his little sister Lara who never came home from playing the day before. Lacquer thought nothing of it because last time he saw her she was with April and Rex so nothing bad could have happened but upon opening the letter in front of his home, a ghastly chill went up his spine and he had learned why his sister never went home.
Because of him the citizens of Cebunilla became more confident and went against the ways of the Heidcheyser Empire and he was held accountable for all the losses, his sister to be exact. Without completely reading the letter, Lacquer rushed towards the location said she would be in. The letter presented an exchange, her life for his and Lacquer loves his sister so dearly that he would make that trade in a heartbeat and at the peak of Mt. Monaxia waited a Cheyser and he held the two girls closely and pointed a knife at Lara who had not stopped crying since the night before, she was just a 5 year old with so much to look forward to but now the future seems bleak.
Lacquer arrived not long after and unarmed he raised his hands in surrender.
"Please just leave her alone! Kill me instead"
The Cheyser looked at Lacquer with a smug grin knowing that he could not do anything as long as he held his sister by the knife.
"Sure but what about her?"
With his left hand holding the knife closely to Lara, his right hand stroked the tied up April and licked her neck and April screeched towards the harassment. Lacquer became furious with the man but he could not do anything while his dear sister is still in danger.
"What do you want?"
"I want the head of Rexcarius Valhalien"
Lacquer gulped out of shock to the absurd demand of the pedophile. His life, he would throw away in an instant but he could not kill another, especially his bestfriend.
"Your insane! I don't stand a chance against Rex!"
"Well watch as I molest your friend then, after your sister will follow!"
Lacquer could barely keep his calm but to that statement his magic seeped through and the Cheyser felt that ominous magic around him and became terrified.
"Hey! Don't have any ideas! I'll kill her!"
Lacquer stayed quiet but his magic reflected all the rage he felt and the air became thicker with his raw power. The Cheyser started to shiver from fear of the young man's power.
"Kill Rexcarius and they will be freed!" The Cheyser said but now without all his confidence upon facing Lacquer and being in range of his immense magic.
"Why don't you kill me yourself?"
Behind the Cheyser was the equally powerful Rexcarius who because of Lacquer's immense magic hiding his aura managed to walk forward unnoticed.
Before the Cheyser could move, using his air cutter spell, Rexcarius cut of cleanly the Cheyser's right arm freeing April and before he could do anything to Lara, in front of him was her brother who had kept quiet for too long and now released the pent up rage.
Lacquer only thrusted his palm to the man's head but the moment that the magic impacted his skin, it rushed through his whole body and from the inside blew up scattering his organs everywhere, showering the mountain with blood.
This had been the very first time that Lacquer has taken a life but he regretted none of it, he felt calm even. The release of the pent up magic power in people like Lacquer would give them comfort like when people make a release of their bodily functions.
Lacquer misunderstood this however and thought that he was a merciless killer like Rexcarius but only that he had not admitted it to himself and on that day he decided he would use that and get his revenge to the Heidcheyser but he simply could not risk is family's life any longer.
While Rexcarius freed April who after being saved by him fell even deeper for him, Lacquer freed his traumatized sister but even after that she was still scarred for life and the carefre happy sister he once had became a paranoid loner who unlike before could no longer leave her home or make any friends.
Lacquer felt he was to blame and made a new arrangement to prevent it from happening ever again. He would switch roles with Rexcarius, he would play the role of the mad dog and Rexcarius the king, so that his name would no longer be linked to the rebellion and he would hide in the shadow of Rexcarius who has nothing to lose nor noting that he cherishes.
Rexcarius agreed to this because it coincided with his mother's desires to be powerful and well known and if Lacquer is offering this then he has no reason to refuse and that day the two started pretending to be each other, to be a new person is almost impossible but for these two, they knew everything about each other and slowly but surely even their personalities became reversed.
Rexcarius took on Lacquer's role and part of this was being a likeable hero who the people would rely on and to be that he took on Lacquer's friendly and happy character while Lacquer in an attempt to stay hidden took on Rexcarius' who was the mysterious right hand that the one who every one relies on can rely on. Soon Lacquer's old character would be forgotten and it would be Rexcarius that is remembered and from being the hero he became the disappointment but he was fine with that as long as his family was safe, but little did he know of what would unfold next, what consequences his choices will hold.
