Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Going to fight

Hiruzen

Bang

The door of the Hokage office was slammed open, and Danzo Shimura stormed inside

"Hiruzen, that's an emergency!" He exclaimed loudly, nearly shouting

"What? What is happening this time? Is everything well on the battlefield?" He asked, his expression stormy, already bracing for the bad news to come

It was normal that he thought that after all, since the war started, every time his friend stormed inside his office like that, it was because they suffered a setback on the front.

"This is not the battlefield. This is here in Konoha." He raged, "The Uzumaki! They have disappeared!"

"What do you mean disappeared?" Hiruzen questioned

"They left the village. They blended in with the uchiha and are leaving for the front," Danzo explained what he had recently found out

"What?"

Hiruzen's brain started moving at great speed, analyzing everything.

With Tetsuma Uchiha influence, no matter how much he is suppressed, it is understandable that he could smuggle the Uzumaki out of The Village.

It's just that they never expected that the old man would prefer sending his grandson to the battlefield rather than leaving him safely in the village.

"It messed up all of our plans," you realized

"Send an order, tell them to come back here, or to have the Uzumaki sent back to the village... I told you it was a bad idea to give them command of the Mist Battlefield,"

Danzo complained as you walked around in the office.

"Stop walking around like that, you're giving me a headache," Hiruzen said, while tapping his table in contemplation

"We can't have them come back. The Uzumaki were never part of the village. They have been paying for our protection; in fact, they are under the protection of just Tetsuma,"

"And you're just going to let it go like that? They have played us for fools. They must have arrived on the battlefield against Hidden Mist, we can..."

"Did you forget how dire the situation is on that front," the hokage nearly shouted, the reason why they are too send the Uchiha there was that the stronghold there had nearly been destroyed and overrun by Ninja's of kumogakure and kirigakure the commander had been eliminated and they were forced to retreat again and again this is why we have sent the Uchiha to lead the front"

"You want to forfeit that front because of a few Uzumaki,"

"Damn it," Danzo raged

"They won't be staying there forever,"

....

"Put the food in those hangars,"

"The weapons go there,"

"Make sure to separate the exclusive tag correctly,"

A small city, the land of Fire had been requisitioned and transformed into another stronghold against Kirigakure

The supplies were distributed, medical ninjas healing the injured, others were enforcing the walls, placing traps and making sure that everything was in order.

In a temporary hangar, Tetsuma Uchiha was listening to the report coming from everywhere around him

Tetsuma was visibly worn out and somewhat injured

He and his primary force had rushed here to reinforce the front and fought against Hidden Mist.

Akashi and the others younger had arrived much later with a second detachment escorting the supplies.

Battle damage, injuries, supply shortage, size of the enemy, important adversary and their style of combat, deployment route.

In brief, every important piece of information and everything that one will need to correctly manage this battlefield was pouring into him from all the jonin ninja around him

The people here were from various ninja clans Hyugas, Akimishi, Aburame, Hatake, Senju and various other clans, even the clans of the advisors, the Sarutobi, Shimura, and others were present on the battlefield.

It was not just to spy on them, every other Battlefield had the same Constitution.

While Tetsuma was listening to the reports, Akashi was standing behind with others, trusted advisor of his grandfather.

His bright red hair and age made him very noticeable among the old men here,

His Sharingan was hidden behind his gold-rimmed glasses.

He had already activated the copy ability of his eyes, and yet none of those highly skilled ninjas noticed it.

After all, those glasses were special, it took him and all the other Uzumaki months to finish.

They were engraved with minuscule and imperceptible seals it's main goal was to hide his Sharingan from others.

Hours later

In a temporary house reserved Akashi was sitting beside his grandfather

"Did you listen to everything that was said in there?" Tetsuma Uchiha asked

The reason why he had brought Akashi into the tent and had him listen to the meeting, even though he didn't have the qualifications, was to gain experience,

"Yes, grandfather," Akashi replied "I remember everything, from every supply routes, and every tactic that was discussed."

"Good, let's make sure of it,"

Soon the old Tetsuma literally started to quiz Akashi in the room while the camp was being rebuilt.

Even though Akashi absolutely hated being treated like a kid like that, he was technically a kid,

He knew that what Tetsuma was doing was for his good; after all there was a difference between memorising something and understanding it.

It was something that he had to learn the hard way

Learning how to manage and lead a war was an essential skill for any great ninja

So even though he did that he did not suck and answer every question it absolute seriousness

Later that night, in his private quarters

The place was covered with various seals, from the ground to the ceiling.

Even a jonin could be killed if those seals were activated; there was only one Uzumaki other than Akashi in the camp, it was Yaya, the guardian that his grandmother left him, the others Uzumaki had left well before they arrived at that battlefield.

Akashi's room was completely different from the usual rooms of a ninja.

In fact that hardly looked like a room,

It was more like a bazaar than a room

It was more like a mix between a traditional library and a futuristic laboratory than a room, with a small area for rest

The place was neither beautiful nor special.

Even though he had arrived not long ago the space was already filled with a smell of ink and chimical.

Scanners, laptops, operating tables, scrolls, ink bottles, and wooden tablets.

Akashi had spent years mixing his knowledge of technology and seals into something unique and never seen before in this world.

"So how is everything proceeding?" Akashi asked Yaya, the other redhead in the room

"The supplies have been delivered, the ninjas are very happy."

"Um-Huh," he just nodded as he continued to tap some line of code on this laptop

Part of the supplies delivered, such as the explosives and other weapons that Tetsuma had brought with him, were purchased through their new organisation using Konoha's funds.

That money went mostly into Akashi and the Uzumaki's pockets.

More precisely, in their organisation's coffers.

There is nothing really surprising about that, every major clans have their owns suppliers.

This is one of the reasons why being in charge of the supply is a position so coveted.

"I see. How are things developing on Grandma's side? I hope that the money that she received will help her."

"Ah, you just have to look at the ledger if you want, but yes, it will serve us well."

"Let me see, ah, bribing the Daimyo of rice field, hot water, the nobles' house of of the land of fire that controls the underworld in the rain village, and ..."

"Alright, stop, please," Akashi stopped Yaya as she started to cite the names of all the people they were bribing.

"I don't need the list, I know them by now,"

The list flashed before his eyes, giving him a headache

"Why doesn't she just eliminate them?" he coldly asked.

Over the years, Akashi had learned from the report, seeing the list of all the noble houses and underworld brokers that his grandmother had eliminated in order to make a place in the underworld for their people.

It was not something that even bothered him.

"We can't just eliminate everyone, you know that. We have already made enough noise, if we do too much, even the war won't stop them from paying attention to us."

"Don't forget that we are trying to be subtle. We can just swallow the entire Underworld by ourselves."

A wicked smile appeared on Akashi's lips

"Swallowing the entire Underworld, huh? Sounds tempting. Maybe one day,"

He said before returning to his laptop

Yaya tilted her head a little to see the data on the laptop

"What have you been working on since earlier? You have been so focused on that thing that you barely paid attention to the rapport. Is that a new seal?" she asked

"Is that a new seal?" she asked

"When you get that distracted, it's usually because you are working on a new seal."

"No, not really, it's an old one really, trying to modify it for my own arsenal,"

"You are so young, you need to be so stressed about that. You have already modified a lot of existing seals in ways that the old guys in the clans have never even thought of," Yaya praised

It was obvious that she had a lot of admiration for Akashi.

It wasn't just him, even those hidden away had benefited from his unorthodox way of seeing seals and are working on improving the exsting one in completely unexpected ways.

For her, Akashi was a monster that very few people in the world would ever be able to reach.

And yet he was still extremely hard-working, he understood of his gift to a frightening level of mastery.

"You're right," he acknowledged, "but I am in a war zone now. Once the other villages realize how much of a danger I already am daily do their utmost to eliminate me."

"War is not the same thing as whipping out a few bandit dens or killing one rogue ninja at a time."

"I must admit... I'm excited"
