Chapter 1264 - Chapter 1264 - The Actor from the East (Part 1)

Jimmy had always known exactly what the audience cared about most. His quick wit and humor had earned him a loyal following. After a few crowd-pleasing questions, he finally brought out the next guest.

"I've been so caught up chatting with Laila, I almost forgot her husband! Let's give a big round of applause for Roy Seasonstar!"

"Wooooaah—!"

The applause was thunderous—even louder than when Laila first came on stage. Clearly, Roy's fanbase was just as passionate, if not more.

Roy walked onstage with a big smile, waving to the crowd.

Once he was seated beside Laila, Jimmy grinned and said, "Look at our newlywed groom—doesn't he look radiant? Like a rose in full bloom, nourished by love!"

The audience erupted in laughter, and Roy nodded proudly. "Of course. I'm extremely happy right now—so happy that I've decided to use my next scheduled appearance on your show… to spend time with my beloved wife."

Jimmy's expression turned from cheerful to mock-tragic. "Hey, man! You can't just ditch your buddy for love. Weren't we the best on-screen duo ever?"

"No, no, no," Roy said, shaking his finger with mock seriousness. "My wife and I are the best team. As for you—after forgetting me backstage for so long—our friendship is nothing but a bubble... pop." He made a popping sound with his mouth to illustrate his point.

The audience was in stitches.

Of course, they didn't know this whole routine had been scripted in advance. They honestly thought Jimmy had just gotten too caught up talking to Laila and left Roy in the wings. That kind of "mistake" was just too hilarious. And their banter made it clear they were real friends, which only made the moment more charming—both for the studio audience and viewers at home.

Jimmy threw up his hands in surrender. "Okay, okay, my bad. I'll accept being your second-best friend—right after Laila. So, my friend, tell us and the audience: what's this new movie about? Everyone's dying to know."

Roy smiled. "Well, before the premiere, I can only say this: working on this film taught me a lot. And I promise—it's absolutely worth seeing in theaters."

"That's as good as saying nothing, come on!" Jimmy leaned in close, lowering his voice mischievously. "Come on, just spoil a little bit. The audience will love you for it."

He was pretending to whisper, but of course, his words were loud and clear through the mic—and broadcast live to millions.

The audience stifled their giggles. Their interest had clearly peaked. After all, this was Laila's first film since The Avengers—everyone was desperate to know what kind of cinematic masterpiece she had created this time.

Roy glanced at Laila, then leaned in toward Jimmy with a conspiratorial smile. "Alright, alright. Since we're good friends, I'll tell you. Just you. But you must promise not to tell anyone else."

Jimmy dramatically winked at the camera, then put on a solemn expression. "Of course! I promise—won't breathe a word."

Never mind that every word was being broadcast to tens of millions of viewers worldwide.

Watching them goof around, Laila sat off to the side, smiling sweetly. When this moment aired in the East, someone clipped the footage and captioned it with: "Just sitting here quietly while they act like fools."

Naturally, Roy wasn't actually going to spoil anything. So when Jimmy leaned in, he simply whispered:

"You'll find out when the movie premieres."

"…Really?" Jimmy slumped in exaggerated disappointment. The audience burst into unrestrained laughter as he turned to Laila and said, "Laila, your husband is evil. Don't you think he deserves a little punishment?"

Laila linked arms with Roy, smiling. "He's just protecting our film. Why would I punish him for that? And he's not wrong—you will know everything when the movie comes out."

"Then you owe me extra movie tickets!" Jimmy, realizing he wouldn't get spoilers out of them, shifted gears to begging for perks.

"Of course!" Laila agreed cheerfully. Then she turned to the audience. "If anyone here wants a ticket, feel free to leave your contact info. You can pick them up at NBC when the time comes."

The audience hadn't expected this. Seeing their idols and getting free tickets? They were ecstatic.

Laila, seeing how happy they were, couldn't help but feel delighted too. Then, turning to another camera, she added:

"For those of you watching from home, if you're interested in Silence, you can also visit Dragon Soul Studios' official website. We'll be releasing a set number of tickets there to thank everyone for their continued support. Also, I'll be posting a mini game on my Facebook page—play a few simple games, and you might win a free ticket!"

She took the opportunity to plug both the official website and her Facebook.

Jimmy crossed his arms and put on an exaggeratedly defeated expression. "Alright, alright. Let's get back to what everyone really wants to know. How's married life? Any major changes after tying the knot?"

"Absolutely!" Roy didn't even need to say much—his constantly lifted lips and glowing face made it obvious how happy he was. "Before marriage, my life was already pretty great. But now? Every day feels like heaven."

Jimmy flinched, then turned to Laila, half-joking: "Do you feel the same way?"

"I do." Laila nodded, still smiling. "Marriage and not being married might look similar on the surface, but they feel very different. It's not just about legal recognition—it's about a deeper sense of belonging."

Jimmy shrugged. "Well, I probably shouldn't have asked. Why do I, a firm bachelor, suddenly want a sweet little wife after listening to you two?"

After a few more questions about their happy newlywed life, Jimmy finally announced the arrival of one final mystery guest.

Leading up to the broadcast, NBC had only teased the appearance of newlyweds Laila and Roy. They hadn't mentioned that Leslie Cheung would be appearing too.

So when Jimmy revealed that one more special guest was coming on—the co-lead of Laila's new film—the audience exploded with excitement. And it wasn't just those in the studio; viewers at home were equally thrilled.
