After playing wildly all night, Tongtong fell asleep in Gu Kai's arms on the way home.
Though he hadn't been drinking, his hand injury hadn't healed yet. Bai Yiyi didn't want to see him driving with one hand, so she insisted that he hold Tongtong instead. Gu Kai was happy to enjoy Bai Yiyi's care and agreed readily.
Once home, Gu Kai carried Tongtong inside, went upstairs, and gently placed her on her toddler bed.
"I'll go fetch some water to wash her face and hands," Bai Yiyi said as she entered the bathroom, returning moments later with a bowl of warm water. Gu Kai once again picked Tongtong up from the bed. Tongtong, sleeping like a little piglet, remained completely undisturbed despite her parents' fussing.
After washing her up, Gu Kai laid her back on the bed. She curled her lips into a wide smile and giggled.
"Tongtong?" Gu Kai called out tentatively. Nearby, Bai Yiyi laughed and said, "She's not awake; she's laughing in her sleep."
