On the way to the Meng family, Bai Xiaoxiao hardly spoke, turning her head to look out the car window.
She would only answer briefly when Meng Ke tried to find a topic to chat about.
Perhaps sensing something amiss, Meng Ke glanced at her and softly asked, "Xiaoxiao, are you upset?"
"Upset about what?"
Bai Xiaoxiao turned to meet his gaze, her fair face holding a faint expression, seemingly not yet back to reality from her thoughts.
A moment ago, she had been gazing out the window, deep in thought.
Meng Ke smiled slightly, "I thought you might be angry about my joke earlier."
Needing to drive, he couldn't keep his eyes on Bai Xiaoxiao and sat upright.
"I know you were joking, why would I be upset?"
A soft smile appeared on Bai Xiaoxiao's face, her eyebrows lightly raised. "However, I have no plan to marry too soon."
A hint of disappointment flickered in Meng Ke's eyes.
He didn't expect Bai Xiaoxiao to frankly state her unwillingness to marry early.
