Xia Yangyang's words seemed to be unexpected for both Xi Zijun and Gu Qichen.
Gu Qichen merely glanced at Xia Yangyang without speaking.
Xi Zijun, however, rejected it on the spot: "I said, I don't need your guilt. Although I was injured because of Xia Ye, I would have done the same for any child then. So, my injury has nothing to do with you, and I don't need your pity."
Xia Yangyang was momentarily at a loss for words.
Gu Qichen said from the side, "Zijun, many things aren't as you wish them to be. Since you were injured saving Xia Ye, it can't possibly have nothing to do with us. If you live here alone and something happens, I'll regret it for a lifetime. So, come stay with us temporarily at Maple Villa. When your eyesight recovers, I'll take you back to Kyoto, or you can choose where you want to live afterward."
Xi Zijun suddenly asked, "But what if my eyesight never recovers?"
Gu Qichen replied, "If that's the case, Yangyang and I will take care of you for a lifetime."
