"Did you use fruit corn?" Zhao Gushen asked after taking a bite.
"Yes, fruit corn is slightly sweet and juicy." Ye Fei took a bite herself, "Xiao Mo doesn't really like regular glutinous corn, he says it's tough to chew."
"When I eat it, there are still some crispy bits, and a little sour taste." Zhao Gushen tasted it carefully again.
Ye Fei laughed and said, "I added some chopped water chestnut and sour pickles. The crisp texture of water chestnut balances the solid filling to leave gaps, making the texture more layered. Sour pickles, of course, are used to cut the richness."
Zhao Gushen glanced at the filling and, sure enough, spotted bits of green amid the yellow corn in the meat filling. These green bits were as small as a pinhead and nestled among the meat filling, unnoticeable if not looked at closely.
"By the way, I'm going on a business trip, coming back on Wednesday," Zhao Gushen said.
