Having nothing to do and nowhere to go for the day, Jason decided to catch a nap and see where that led. He was happy to say he didn't regret that choice. The forest was sunny and beautiful today, as it almost always was. Jason stood up from the spot he lay in on the forest floor. The same feeling of being young and stress free fell on him like a pleasant wave. Daphis and Fenris were nowhere near though. He didn't mind, he figured he could go exploring for a minute.
Above, birds sang and flew from treetop to treetop. Further above them, larger winged things flew around, but Jason couldn't tell what they were. All he saw were shadows cast over the trees. He could hear them, though. Their wings sounded large, he could hear the sound of them flapping. This place got more and more interesting the more he came here. Every time, there was something new to see or do, it seemed. Jason just wanted to take it all in for a second. He was looking at what he could only describe as heaven. This place was so soothing for a tired mind.
Behind Jason, there was a faint voice singing in a very high pitched voice. Despite the fact that it sounded like someone sucked in an entire tank of helium, it was soothing. Now, more voices joined in. Jason turned around to see a group of what looked like humming birds. Jason listened to the voices as he watched the humming birds circle a bush with a bright fruit and gorgeous flowers in front of him. He took a few steps closer, not wanting to scare them off, but wanting a closer look. The closer he got, the less they looked like humming birds. Each one of them had a distinctive look, but they all looked relatively the same. They were small, about the size of the palm of Jason's hand, but they resembled female humans. They varied from green, to gray, to brown, to flesh colored. One thing stunned Jason though, and it was just how beautiful they were, and how much the sound of their singing reminded him of Daphis and her enchanting voice.
One flew closer upon noticing Jason. She circled a few times as she cautiously flew closer. Jason wanted to touch one. The closer the one got to Jason, the more he could pick out distinguishable features. She looked a lot like Daphis, but a little more human. She wore a dress made of small green leaves, grass, and vines. The little skin that was exposed looked like it had never seen the sun, it was so pale, but she was beautiful. Jason reached out for her, slowly, she got closer, curiously inspecting Jason.
His fingers barely grazed the torso of this little flying woman, and the singing stopped. The rest seemed to hover where they were, and Jason got an uneasy feeling. The one Jason managed to touch flew away from Jason at a lightning speed and the others followed as she disappeared out of sight. Jason couldn't help but laugh a little. This was the first time he's gotten to touch one of the magical things here.
Jason turned his attention back to the sky where the large, unseen flying creatures continued to flap their large wings. One made a sound that reminded Jason of watching Jurassic park, but less intimidating. He wanted to know what was flying overhead, so he started toward where he thought the clearing would be. As he walked, he noticed more things coming out of hiding. There were more of the tiny flying women out and about in the distance in every direction, but there were more things to see too. On the forest floor, coming out of a hole in one of the trees was a flowery looking creature dancing around. She looked less human than the rest, but still bore the figure.
In the sky, the noises grew louder, and Jason really wanted to see what was going on up there. He kept moving towards the clearing, wanting to know what was up in the sky. In his mission to get to the clearing, he didn't even notice the various creatures that were coming out start to run or fly back into hiding. His focus was solely on finding out what was up above.
Jason felt a chill run up his spine, his senses told him to turn around, but he didn't know how to react. The sound of footsteps behind him grew louder, someone was moving fast. Jason started to whirl around, but he was too late. Before he knew it, something was placed over his face and head that completely eliminated all of his senses, he couldn't hear, see or smell anything. Then, something hard hit him over the back of the head with a great amount of force, and that was the last thing he remembered.
It took a few minutes for Jason to come back to his senses. Jason was coming in and out of consciousness. He still couldn't hear, see or smell, but he could feel himself being dragged across the forest floor by two people. He couldn't fight back, he was barely awake enough to move. He felt the grass and dead twigs and leaves of the forest floor dragging along his shins and feet. Whoever was dragging him was moving in a hurry. He felt himself falling shortly after, it was a long fall too. He hit the ground hard and immediately lost his consciousness again.
