Bertha Swift noticed Melanie Quinn's gaze on Charles Carter, and wondered if it was just her imagination. She felt that, although Melanie's face remained expressionless, there was an inexplicable chill.
"You're not thinking of beating him up, are you?" Bertha couldn't help but lean back slightly and whispered.
Melanie shook her head, "How could I? Miss Swift, rest assured, I'm not that kind of brute."
As she finished speaking, Charles happened to pass by the set's props, which included wooden stakes used for martial arts training in the play. Melanie's lips suddenly curled into a smile. Her hand moved slightly and Charles suddenly tripped, stumbling towards the stake.
"Aaaahhh..."
The crew had already restarted their busy preparations for the upcoming shoot, ignoring Charles, until his sudden piercing scream—like a slaughtered pig—startled many. Everyone looked over in alarm and saw Charles sprawled on the wooden stake.
