Chapter 19 - Ch 19 Long first day

Esika, walked forward through the long drawn out halls, with Silliya as his lead. His head shifted side to side, as he took in the corridors mounted art pieces and the walls opulent décor.

The luxurious edifice, reminded him further of where he was. The grounds he stepped on was no longer the pattering mire that sludged and dripped whenever the wearied slaves ambled around to accomplish their next task.

His wandering eyes eventually eased and rested on the back of the head of the one that was guiding him. He strained to remove his gaze, but his will acted with ungovernable desire that caused his wayward eyes to inadvertently glance back and forth from his side and to the girl.

He whispered a sigh after trying and failing for the umpteenth time.

'You're the only one making it odd' He chided himself. Staring forth now, he tried to look with a restful survey. The girl's hair was straighter then the thin leaves on a pine tree and resembled the color of apricots.

Her stature was short, but the way she acted and by her drawing aura, her presence did not allow her person to be left out of the purview of whoever was in the same room as her.

"Has the recent move been accommodating to you Esika?" Her voice startled the boy upright.

"Um..Uh.." He stuttered for an instant but he quickly caught himself. "Yes.. Although it has been a little difficult to get used to but.. I'm looking forward to what the future could bring"

This answer slightly surprised the girl. She was expecting a quick yes or no from him, as whenever she'd tried talking to him the boy always seemed too anxious to reply any differently.

"Well.. That's good I was afraid that you'd be too depressed from how the other kids treated you". Now it was Esika's turn to be surprised.

'Ah.. was she worried about me?' He thought but quickly shook his his head. 'Ms. Silliya is just a kind person... I mustn't look too deeply into things".

Esika, was not used to talking to people of similar ages to him. Back at the village, the only real company he'd have besides his parents and his much younger siblings, were the dreary eyed slaves that were forced to do back breaking work alongside him.

He hadn't known the kindness of strangers back then. Everyone he knew were too preoccupied with surviving then to bother with idle chit chat.

Because of this reason, he was both good at talking yet terrible at it at the same time. Good, in the sense that he could accurately maneuver around the mood of his betters and correctly placate them. And bad because he didn't know how to respond to people like Silliya and the other Bee family Members.

He had originally thought that the only reason they treated him with kindness was because of his future prospects as an inheritor, but now he saw it different.

The atmosphere at house Bee was the complete opposite of the Wasp's. Where in, every servant be they slave or worker serving under House Wasp where always on edge or too hard pressed to talk to. The 'workers' (because the bee family hated slavery) where usually jovial and easy to talk to.

they treated his family with the respect of honored guest in their home.

Thinking about this, the tense shoulders on Esika relaxed. To act the way he has in the past with the same kind people that had magnanimously taken in his family, would be wrong of him.

"Ms. Silliya" He spoke with a straight tone, as his voice elevated from that of his previous whimpering tone to that of an actual man.

The girl who was taken aback stopped in her tracks and looked back at the boy. Before she could fully comprehend what was happening, she noticed the upright boy suddenly bend to a full bow.

"I would like to thank you and your family on behalf of me and my family and all of my ancestors" He practically screamed.

"Uh..ah." The flustured girl couldn't find the right words to say. After a while she tried to tell the boy to calm down but the boy kept bowing. Finally she gave up.

"Your'e welcome" She smiled.

Esika, with his bent body tilted his head slightly upward. Looking at the radiating smile on her beautiful face nearly caused him to slip. He swore at that moment he felt the world around him stop.

......

The two eventually arrived at a peculiar door. Esika, could tell that the room he was about to enter was different. The door looked more like a golden gate. There was markings of the ancient language of the gods on it, and it had the engravings of the goddess tree herself on the center.

Silliya, glanced at him and indicated with a finger on her lips for him to keep quiet. She pushed the door open and unveiled an elegant room that was illuminated by the bright morning sun. He could even see by the edge of his eye through the window, the massive tree goddess that was situated miles away.

Esika, was mesmerized by the sight of the elegant room that was bout half the size of an auditorium. He quickly dissuaded the urge to glance around openly, but still did in a more covert manner. He could see shelves of book lining up both sides of the walls, and a large open glassy ceiling on the roof.

Before the boy could observe the further he was interrupted by an angry booming voice.

"You Commoner You'd dare be late to my class" The voice came from a man that resembled a pale walnut. His olden face was contorted with anger and steam could be seen rising from the top of his head alongside with sweat. His antennas were as long as his droopily hair and were easily contrasted by it's noticeable green within the midnight dark wool on his head.

Esika, winced at the angered man, but recovered quickly.

His aura was volatile but Esika, who had already felt much more powerful aura from not only the Saintess but the incredible giant, strangely did not act with as much fear as the man had thought h would have.

It was Silliya, who due to her brother's influence he had to respect, that answered for the boy. "My apologies teacher it was due to my errors that he was late. I was too preoccupied with showing him around the Academy and lost myself in the time".

She slightly tilted her head indicating an apology.

With that being said the old man could no longer act out his reprimands. "Hmph, you two have better not allow this to happen again, now take a seat."

The man no longer looked at them as he turned around on the class stage and reached for the book of the curriculum on his desk that he'd been teaching the class with.

"Follow me" The girl said while gently pulling on the sleeves on Esika. She walked towards a half empty large rectangular table that had two empty seats to the far left of it.

"I had requested the school to have you placed near me during class, and because of both of our excellent talents they obliged, now all of our classes are at the same time"

Esika, looked at her gratefully and could only nod and whisper a "thank you" as he dared not speak further.

After sitting down, the boy eyed around the classroom. He noticed five rows of similar sized table's on each side of the classroom, with about all of the seats taken. In his observing gaze he also noticed two familiar figures. One was of the boy he had stood behind during the awakening test and the other was the boy Lesym, the young master of House Wasp.

The latter was staring at him with a vehement gaze as if he'd seen his mortal enemy.
