Su Wanyu was feeling elated from the praise of this father and daughter duo, and the nervousness she had about the upcoming interview dissipated quite a bit.
Jiang Changhai rode his bicycle, not heading directly home but stopping at the entrance of the state-run restaurant not far from their house.
"Wife, to celebrate you successfully securing the town's job transfer slot, let's not cook at home today. Let's dine out and have something nice," Jiang Changhai said as he lifted his daughter off the bike, grinning from ear to ear.
"Great, Brother Hai, I don't feel like cooking today anyway. After we eat here, I can still go home and read for a while," Su Wanyu gave Jiang Changhai a thumbs up, very pleased with his suggestion.
"That's wonderful. I'll take advantage of my mom's success to have a nice meal," Jiang Mianmian held her parents' hands joyfully and walked into the state-run restaurant.
