2041 and the world is still as bad as it would ever be. The world is still gloomy and depressed like it was 20 years ago.
With some exceptions like the growing technology like VR. There would be games where you just need to wear a helmet and adventure to a virtual world.
The internet can hold more than anyone put in it, Virtual Reality became a common topic to talk about. Everyone loves virtual reality.
But for a certain young man, this was not enough. He was being selfish and he wants more. And so he created a world connected to the internet and a system to administer it.
He was not a programmer but he has some knowledge of programming. He was creating the world like playing with lego to make a fortress, except with different types of lego brands.
Some stick together like glue while others don't even stay close. The world itself will take sources from the internet and make it part of the world. If the world found about the legend of Excalibur then the sword may have a chance to exist in the world.
He already has a somewhat good life and a family but he just wants to have fun in the world he created. Little does he know what might have come in the future.
"Others would waste a magic wish for another world, why not just create your own world." The young man said polishing the final steps of the world.
It took him quite a long journey to create such a thing but it's finally done. it's the same guy from the past that will be known as Zefa in the future.
He was planning to test the world after the final steps, so he grabs his vr helmet, sits on a couch, before wearing the helmet with excitement.
"Let me dream while I'm awake." Zefa muttered while turning on the vr helmet.
Then there's darkness and silence.
Zefa opens his eyes, he realized he was lying on the ground so he tried to sit up. Then he looked around, it was all white as far as the eye could see.
Zefa looks up, there were clouds with darker shades. he glances down on the ground and touch it. It was like he's on top of water, every time his hand made contact with the 'ground' it would make a wave.
"Where am I?".
"Weird, I have never seen this place before on the previous tests." Zefa muttered looking confused.
[Where do you think you are?].
Zefa heard a voice in his head. He recognizes the voice, it's the voice of the system he made but.. with a different tone.
[I am just as surprised as you are.].
"Who are you?" Zefa asked since the system was acting strange.
[You don't recognize your own system?].
"My system never talks to me like this. I never added that kind of Ai.".
[Well turns out you did. We are running out of time though. let's talk later.].
"What do you mean we are running out of time? there is no timer on the world." Zefa asked. All the things he knew about the world and the system is getting distorted.
[The world is processing and I need to clean up some mess. Have fun in your world, you probably won't remember this place.].
Before Zefa could ask another question, the white place turned pure black and silence take its place.

Somewhere in the World, the moon shines down on the forest as well as the stars in the night sky with the wind brushing through the trees.
A sudden light flicker on the ground as space itself seems to be torn apart, a portal or a rift appeared and a boy was launch out of it. The boy tried to stand up as it would seem the boy was 5'4 feet tall. He looks at the night sky with his brown eyes as the wind brushes his black hair.
"The Dream World..." The boy was Zefa as he remembered when he was calling this world the Dream World. He didn't create every single part of the world but he recognizes the beautiful night sky of the dream world.
Zefa checked his surroundings then himself. He was wearing the usual clothing he used before, consisted of a black and white set of T-shirt, jeans, and a coat. He realized he was in a forest but he was more surprised that his body was younger than what he currently was before he entered the Dream World.
Zefa felt like he had an important conversation before but he couldn't remember it well. He knows something was wrong as this would not be a normal entry to the Dream World.
"System sound. System display." Zefa made two ways for the system to interact. System sound would make the system says the information right into the ear as System display would make a window appear in view. As Zefa tried both, the system didn't reply.
Zefa was getting worried as the system was not functioning anymore. He tried using a fail-safe but the system didn't reply again. As Zefa was checking the system he heard the bushes rustle at the distance.
Zefa walks carefully to the source of the sound as he wants to investigate whatever made the sound. As it was night, Zefa could barely see what he's doing but the moon shines bright enough for him to see.
Zefa looks around the area and he saw a moving shadow, upon taking a closer look, it was a shadow from a humanoid creature with dark green skin. When Zefa was examining the creature, to his surprised the system window open up in front of him.
[Goblins - Disgusting creatures from the internet as they exist from different stories with the intent of mischief and malice. The citizen of the internet made this creature the embodiment of disgust as it would do something that humans would think twice about doing. Exceptions are rare as the internet always have varieties of perception.]
"What the.." Zefa leak out a voice as he was surprised for the system to react like this. To give information about a creature as it was highly focused about the internet.
Zefa tried to contact the system before but it didn't reply. Why would it give an information about creatures yet highly focused about the internet behind it?
The goblin became alerted as it heard Zefa's mumbles and it started to look around the place. Zefa noticed this and also started to slowly back away.
When Zefa was far enough, he started to run as far away from it. Zefa wasn't scared of the goblin but he also didn't want to get beaten by it too as he didn't know how strong the goblin was.
Zefa ran away until he was out of breath, then he started to walk normally with catching some air. Zefa heard the sound of water as he looks around the place.
Zefa found a river in the middle of the forest, thinking about it Zefa was kinda thirsty so he tried to drink the water from it. He washes his face afterward and soaks some of his hair.
After he was done doing so, he looks at the reflection of himself on the river, and to his surprised yet again, another system window appeared.
