Chapter 4: A terrible plan
"Sir…what are you doing?"
"Preparing an escape bag, what does it look like I'm doing?"
"Making a terrible decision."
"Oh, haha."
That's right, Enrico's brilliant idea was to run away from home, in the opposite direction of his brother. His logic being that if he were to disappear as well, his father would be forced to send a rescue party after his older brother Leon, while Enrico could just fall off the face of the kingdom for a few weeks.
Granted, he wasn't going to be alone during his planned "falling off".
"Now Conrad, can you please be a chum and find me that book of maps?"
"The one with the dog on it or the one with the eagle?"
"Does it matter?"
"Not really, since I'm not handing you either one."
"Dastard!"
The man Enrico was having a rather one-sided te-a-tet with was his personal servant, and lifelong companion/friend, Conrad.
